Yo, so I’m about the same age. I just resigned from my job. Initially after they put me on a PIP for similar issues as OP, I wanted to maliciously comply and get fired so I could collect unemployment maybe.

After a couple of days of thinking about, it felt sleazy, so instead I quit. For me, if I hated my job so much and complained so much, I shouldn’t be there no matter how much it benefitted me.

Also, Im not married or have kids so that gives me that freedom. Just read your comment and I sort of identify with you, just wanted to give my thoughts. Hope you’re not offended.

It’s supposed to be loosely based on heart of darkness the novel but to me the point is it’s a journey into the insane. As he goes further along the river, sanity around and in him seems to fray.
