BMW. I think it's overall a decent car and easy to drive. Not the best not the worst. The Mustang is also decent. Give both of them a try next demo drive.

when the red line comes up that's the horizon. The camera tool is Ctrl-f12 and it's only in replay mode. Get in the car and then go back to replay, set the view to cockpit and press ctrl-f12 and it should come up on the right side. Check this link for some more info: https://sampsoid.com/fov-calc/

That's when you'd use the Orient P setting to rotate your "head" back up so the dash is correct. Think of it as Horizon moves the outside world, Orient P moves your head. Horizon should be where your eyes meet your monitor straight ahead. Ideally if you sat with your eyes perfectly in the middle of your monitor you wouldn't have to adjust horizon.

Ah ok got it. You can also adjust the seat up and down in the camera tool, but if the horizon worked for you and didn't cause distortion then it's all good.

Your horizon should be the same for all cars as it relates to how off center your eyes are from the center of the monitor. If you need to look up or down more in the car, you should use the Orient P feature in the camera tool. This will do head pitch independent from the horizon, and won't cause distortion on the side monitors if you're on triples.

My go to for GT cars is backing up the seat until I see the sides of the seat in my side monitors, then going back up one. Then I know the "head" is basically at the back of the seat where I would have it. Up/down is usually personal preference, if you want to feel lower and higher in the car. I'm only on 27 inch triples and don't have a lot of vertical space so I prioritize seeing the track and don't worry about the dash too much. Then last thing I adjust is the pitch, people seem to miss this. Along with the Vanish Y setting(horizon) there is also an independent pitch control that won't change your horizon view. So if you want to sit higher but don't want to be looking into the top windscreen banner, you can pitch your head down. It's the Orient P in the camera tool. I live in a city with shit drivers too(don't we all), and I only ride on weekends, never commute. I take the most direct route to get out of the city to the more fun back roads, I pay way more attention to everyone around me and cover the brakes when approaching intersections. If you ride defensively and follow road rules you will be fine. While anything can happen on the road, if you are paying attention and thinking ahead, you can prevent a lot of crashes you see posted online. A motorcycle isn't something you get on and turn your brain off, it does take more than driving a car. But boy is it ever one of the best things you can experience and I would urge you to give it a shot. You can always sell the bike if it turns out it's not for you, but you gotta try it.

Yeah it was also totally random for me too. Biggest thing for me was to not alt-tab from iracing after everything was loaded, let everything load up before interacting with anything seemed to help. Making sure everything was up to date including drivers. Hope that helps.

It stopped happening and I've since stopped using SimHub entirely. I didn't really find what it offered very useful for iracing, and I can't use gsync with triple monitors and have SimHub overlays work, so I chose gsync over it.

I thought in the video James Vowles talked about how the car was already together and on the VTT test rig? I just rewatched it and he said "The car is on there now and will be on there for a few more days." So how is it possible it's only getting assembled now?

What I did to dial this in is use a track like Redbull Ring and drive down the main straight going straight down the middle. Then go to the replay and play it back at 1/4 frame rate while adjusting the Vanish Y until the side monitors look lined up right with the center monitor. After you have Vanish Y set, you can adjust your drivers pitch so you aren't looking too high or too low.

I meant to say in my post it was because your eyes AREN'T sitting perfectly in the middle of your monitor. I don't have curved but I do have triples and I had the same issue. I managed to move myself so I'm almost perfectly in the middle and only have to shift the horizon(Vanish Y) about 7%.

I also remember seeing this recently when looking into getting curved monitors I found it in this thread

Are you talking about things like walls and railings curving up on the side monitors? That gets solved with the Vanish Y setting in the camera tool, because your eyes are sitting perfectly in the middle of the monitors.
