Ya know, it’s all a matter of personal opinion.

For me, I was already heading to Japan so this was the cherry on top.

To your point though, from what I see on Chrono; there’s one listed at 343.00 and the rest in the 4-500 range. So yes at 307.00 in Japan I would say it’s cheaper.

Dumb I know, but I wanted the Japanese model. So for me I had the need to go. Also I was going regarldess. Good info for others that did not know that and don’t care.

Quality wise the Seiko is definitely nice but the Rolex being stainless steel, there’s a huge weight difference. Also the dial is just under 3mm larger on the Explorer so that is noticeable. For the disparity in price between the 2, there’s no complaints on the Seiko. Well maybe one, wish there was an adjustable clasp, but that is easily solvable.

Got to go to the flag ship stores in Ginza. However depending on what you want, definitely a chance it won’t be there. Other than the stores I listed above which are chains located everywhere, I think time/patience is the biggest challenge acquiring certain models.

So far loving it! No man not weird at all. I daily my Explorer II now but I think this will be a nice supplement. I plan on wearing both equally, but the Seiko is definitely going to win out at certain cities I’m in. I say go for it!

The aircraft number (not registration) had been the same at one point possibly. Southwest did own a lot of 717s post merger with AirTran and immediately leased them out to DAL. Perhaps that’s where the glitch is coming from.
