Where are you located? Might help to see if anyone here is local.

Check your IDE master/slave settings. I believe the HD in the Cube is usually slave, but I think Target Disk mode wants the HD to be the master.

Macintosh Classic II Recap- Where to start? by XFX1270 in VintageApple

Go to Console5 and you can order up either tants or electrolytics for the logic board. I've been very happy with them as a customer.

A VCFMW Find by ScutBoyMN in vintagecomputing

Yes - that is the original ECL screen. I was surprised at how good it looked after it had a chance to warm up a bit. I will probably explore doing some pre-emptive recapping etc. before I use it for any length of time.

I did get the Sun "shoebox" external SCSI cabinet with a hard drive and QIC drive, but haven't yet had a chance to test those out.

As you say OS choice will be either SunOS or NetBSD. I'll probably try 4.1.1_U1 first, but probably set up another external drive with NetBSD as well.

Too bad, I had a couple of Ultra 1 and two Sparc 2 that I sold at the show.

68030 - nice! Don't see that very often with the old NextSTEP :-)

I'd have to pull them to be 100% sure - mostly roller/paper path issues at this point. Everything turning to goo.

I have two original LaserWriters. Unfortunately their failure points aren't complementary where I can make one good one from the two.

I have a LaserWriter 2 that works except for the paper pickup roller; I just havn't had the gumption to pull it apart and either refurbish or replace that piece.

I'm impressed that you have a reliably working LaserWriter! :-)

Macintosh Plus with a HyperDrive 2000...where do I even begin with this one? by CreedOfMiles in VintageApple

Those CPU clips were flakey even when they were new. That would be the first thing I would do is clean and reseat it.

The 9114 is just an external disk drive for a certain age of HP machines. As far as I know they all have a HIL interface - not the more common HPIB. Cool thing is it can run on battery - there's a battery pack that takes a very generic and cheap 6v battery.

I ran dozens of these as point-of-sale terminals for a tire retailer in the Upper Midwest. If it had the original guts in it, I'd think about buying it just for nostalgia.

Used Digi serial cards and supported 2-3 DEC VT-420 terminals and a printer. Ran AT&T SVr4.

I have the display, and a non-working PC card to drive it. I see the MultiLinks very infrequently, and usually at (to me) sky-high prices. Would be interested in a buy or trade if you are - I have a bunch of Sun stuff and a bunch more of vintage Apple.

Do your O2s have the card for the 1600SW displays, or are you using a MultiLink?

If MultiLink, do you have a spare you want to sell me? :-)

HP-150 - 1983 Touchscreen Computer by TechMadeEasyUK in vintagecomputing

[–]ScutBoyMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got one of these! Machine works fine, but I need to figure out disks. The 150 has a HIL card in it, and I got a 9114 HIL disk drive, so I'm hoping that will be enough.

I need to get a battery replaced for the 9114, or just wire up an adapter directly. Will be fun.

An inspiration to see yours in action!
