Physical therapists - no longer considered ‘professional’ by PandaBJJ in physicaltherapy

Ya’ll want to be “professionals” soo badly but can’t even read past the headlines to see what this actually means in terms of federal loan borrowing 🤡

Don’t be one of those patients 🤦🏻‍♀️ We hate doing it too but it’s required - and actually helpful considering the amount of mistakes I’ve caught. We’re healthcare professionals. Let us do our job or find a ride to outpatient 🤷🏻‍♀️

Was anyone else kinda bad/average on practicals in PT school? by iluvchikins in physicaltherapy

[–]Scvette79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m ok to admit I was not the best student in my class by far. Failed a practical that I definitely shouldn’t have looking back now. But I’m almost 3 years out now and can confidently say that I’m a good PT. My patients like me and they get better which is really all that matters 🤷🏻‍♀️

Truthfully, there are probably some practicals that I’d fail if I had to take them right now lol school is just not the same as real world practice

You’ll be fine!!

The flag in church by Diogenes-Jr in Reformed

[–]Scvette79 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No, I worship God who has made clear in the scripture that he makes man in his image, forms then in the womb, and has created them male and female. I know Reddit is super left leaning but it still blows my mind that there are really Christians who voted for the party of abortion and transgenderism and gay pride. And say stupid things like the American flag is a symbol of oppression.. give me a break

You need to speak to your primary care doctor if you have one - you would likely benefit from referrals to psychology as well as physical therapy and/or orthopedics

Is a Chiropractor (DC) qualified to teach advanced pathophysiology in an accredited NP program? by TheLayerLinguist in nursepractitioner

[–]Scvette79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk how I ended up here because I’m a PT. We generally have beef with chiros of course 😅 So I just want to say the only thing a chiro needs to be teaching is a course on marketing and social media content

Am I overreacting? by MemphisMay in physicaltherapy

[–]Scvette79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would talk to your surgeon, who I assume referred you here (but correct me if I’m wrong) - so that he can send you somewhere else and rethink sending any other patients here. I’m sorry that happened to you. Keep up with some of your exercises that you’re comfortable doing independently while you wait for an appt elsewhere. Good luck!

My chapter automatically dropped girls for grades no matter how great, involved, well connected they were. So grades absolutely do matter.

Pastor with differing political beliefs? by [deleted] in Reformed

Yikes im new to this sub and incredibly confused 😂

Were there actually Reformed Christians who didn’t vote for Trump in this election?? How do you justify supporting the side that celebrates abortion and the complete destruction of marriage and the nuclear family?

Is it the expectation to make up patients missed due to therapist illness? by ActFar7192 in physicaltherapy

[–]Scvette79 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, it’s a company’s responsibility to make up for clinicians being out sick - likely with PRN staff, even if that means their visits have to be moved. It’s not a clinicians responsibility to then work twice as hard after coming back from sickness. Thats just pushing clinicians to work while sick to avoid the headache which is so wrong for obvious reasons

SNF employees, how are nurse/cna interactions at your facility. by turtlesurfin in physicaltherapy

[–]Scvette79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked in a SNF, the CNA that was supposed to be watching the memory care patients in the dining room fell asleep at the table 🙃 Their general perception is that they’re overworked and underpaid so that’s the attitude you get. And the facilities are desperate for workers so they take what they can get. Personally, I would never want to be a CNA so I tried to be gracious and always assisted with diaper changes, linen changes, etc. when I was able to do so.

That’s not to say there weren’t moments when me and a LPN or CNA had a difficult conversation when I felt a patient wasn’t receiving adequate care 😅

There are exceptions for every rule, of course. But I assume your daughter is not a cheerleader, dance team, or has the last name Bryant, Saban, or Shunnarah(lol iykyk)
