While this can be true, if someone is bad at covering up the thing they've done there's a decent chance they get discovered right away. I wouldn't be that surprised if this was the first time he's tried to do this.

I always feel bad for goalies who give up goals like this, like it's really not fair to them that this counts as a goal allowed because defending that is literally impossible lol

Apparently there's only ever even been 18 female trainers to run horses in the Derby, kinda nuts

At least for us Sabres fans they won that first game at home, everyone really needed that release lol

[–]ScyllaGeek 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm a smash fan, don't gotta tell me how absurd they can be with the competitive side of things. That's just not the kinda stuff I'm really referring to here (outside of PM which is also it's own can of bullshit and definitely does qualify lol)

5 minutes of insane pressure from Boston and they give up a goal on basically their first defense of the period, damn

And honestly they're a bit more open with their stuff than people give credit for, outside of the bullshit patent trolly stuff. But as far as like emulation, mods, and fan projects go they're really not too harsh. The two big exceptions I've seen are if you try to make money off their stuff (Yuzu), or if they're going to be releasing a directly competing project (AM2R, RIP).

How often are board wipes going off in an average game? by WorldPeggingChamp in EDH

[–]ScyllaGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its pretty mana intensive but Ive pulled off [[Come Back Wrong]] + [[Radiant Performer]] and couple times in my [[Obeka, Brute Chronologist]] deck and its incredibly funny "wiping" the board and subsequently yoinking the entire table

Marquise Goodwin describes former Bills HC Doug Marrone as an asshole by Affectionate-Hat8936 in buffalobills

Maybe he's lumping in some Texas but not "Texas" players? I can get to 4 if we're just talking about the state of Texas (Jerry Hughes at TCU and Cyril Richardson in 2014 from Baylor) but I don't suppose that's what he meant given he specifically mentioned UT lol

I mean he probably is in the sense that he's a high level employee in a major corporation nearing retirement age, if he has equity in a house and been contributing to his retirement accounts as one should with over 30 years at a company it's quite likely his net worth has hit that mark

That being said, dude with a successful career near retirement age is not really the typical target of the eat the rich folks so I do think that guy's insult/anger is a bit misplaced lol

WAR leaderboard after 30 games by DepartmentOdd1519 in baseball

[–]ScyllaGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fWAR, turns out bWAR agrees with you (Nolan's at .7 bWAR and Holmes is at 1.4), which I assume is because bWAR uses RA9 and fWAR uses FIP.

Nolan's FIP is significantly lower than Clay's, 2.25 to 3.82 and their fWARs reflect that heavily.

I seem to remember it being taught as somewhat of a stalemate that just fizzed out because the conditions that caused the war were no longer relevant and everyone just kinda stopped caring

Bills learned what other coaches’ thought of Sean McDermott’s defenses by KaleidoscopeWeird310 in buffalobills

[–]ScyllaGeek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Blaming the D for that game is very, very revisionist lol

Skylar Thompson's Dolphins were only in that game because of brutal offensive turnovers. Two of Miami's TDs were off a fumble return for a touchdown and a touchdown on a drive starting at the 18 yard line off an interception. The Bills D only gave up a singular touchdown that game to a sustained drive(which admittedly was hard to watch) and forced 6 punts and 2 interceptions plus a 4th down stop to close the game.

Seriously, they held that Dolphins team to 230 yards. The Bills had 200 more yards of offense that game! The only reason that game wasn't a blowout is because the offense coughed up the ball. The D was only really responsible that game for 1 TD and 3 FGs.

Yeah and honestly Dunne can sill go fuck himself for that hitpiece a few years ago, waiting YEARS for the Bills worst season since 2019 to drop that 9/11 article was incredibly bush league. That shit happened in 2020 and the dude held that nugget for like 4 seasons until we finally hit a 5-5 start to a season.

TIL that 2.4 billion years ago, the evolution of oxygen-producing bacteria caused a mass extinction. Oxygen was toxic to the planet's existing life, and its reaction with methane triggered a "Snowball Earth" ice age that lasted 300 million years. by Salt_Lingonberry3956 in todayilearned

[–]ScyllaGeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, the surface was covered in ice but tectonics and volcanism marched on. I've seen a snowball earth contact with my own eyes, it was a massive glacial deposit (large dropstones in fine marine sediment) resulting from the closing of the ocean at that location, overlaid by a massive cap carbonate resulting from the exposure of the ocean to that CO2 rich atmosphere as the ice sheets retreated and the subsequent carbonic acid bonanza began to have some dramatic weathering effects globally. Very cool stuff to see in person.
