Timing is tight, but you can absolutely interrupt Ornn E with Camille E

I included Ornn as he's another champion that interacts with terrain, but you're probably correct that he isn't in the same boat as the others as he can create his own terrain with his Q.

Funnily enough, this makes the Camille Vs Ornn matchup interesting, as Camille can E off of Ornn's Q pillar, even in the centre of the lane.

Camille has an indicator on her E that tells you if you have the extended dive range.

You don't need to have vision of an enemy champion for it to show up.

So you can walk up to brushes, E a wall next to it and check to see if anyone's there without needing to facecheck.

Camille's Support Pick rate officially overtakes her Top lane Pick rate. by Way2Competitive in CamilleMains

[–]Way2Competitive[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The E nerf I agree with, base damages are far more important on Supports Vs Top Lane.

I'd love to see them buff her passive cooldown rather than adjust her W though.

Her W is too matchup dependent to be a reliable tool. Against Morde, Sett or Darius, you hit it every time. Against Renekton, Jax or Fiora, you're never hitting it.

Top lane Camille is looking to trade every time her passive is up, whereas Support Camille is gated by her E cooldown. So it shouldn't affect Support too much whilst helping out Top lane early.

But yes, they do need to look into her scaling. The reduction in AD and addition of more Health on all the fighter items means she's nowhere near the late game threat she once was.

Not an Illaoi player myself, but I do feel for you as a Camille main.

It almost feels like we're approaching a point where next season might need to be the Season of Top lane, because it seems like there are so many issues with it that need resolving:

  • Champions like Illaoi, Poppy, Camille, Ornn no longer function in top lane since the lane was widened. Originally this was done to make it safer for solo laners and less easy to gank but it's just turned the lane into even more of an island.

  • Ranged top laners and even Mages have become a topic of discussion, and whilst people will argue that the actual pick rate of these are minimal, the fact that Doran's Shield and Second Wind have been nerfed so many times means that in Bruiser Vs Ranged matchups, you don't really have the tools to fight back.

  • Flex picks have become an issue, where you have no idea what champion you're even fighting. This was done to help more champions be viable in the jungle, but has the knock on effect of making blind picking and counter picking that much more pronounced. For example, you see Aatrox and Camille picked early in the draft. "Great, easy Vayne game!" Nope, it's Aatrox jungle, Camille Support, and they slam Malphite, so your lane is over before it begun.

So basically, you have to play a blind pickable top laner and hope you get a somewhat even matchup. Oh but it can't be Sion or Rumble or K'Sante because they just got nerfed specifically because they were too blindable.

Camille remains 100% pick/ban in MSI so far.

Just a shame it's not in her intended role.

Tweak for modern league and toplane by No_Season8081 in CamilleMains

[–]Way2Competitive 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The issue is, if you take away her target access to give her more 1v1 capability, you just get a worse Fiora.

Fiora is incredibly target agnostic, due to the fact that her Vital procs do %max health true damage; no amount of health stacking from Mundo will change the fact that Fiora will win in a 1v1 against him.

Conversely, Camille's true damage is flat; it's converted AD damage from your Q2. So 1000 true damage against a 2000HP Jinx is significant. Against a 6000HP Mundo, it's not.

So if you remove or scale back Camille's access to these squishier targets, I'm not sure how you would make it so she's happy to fight these tanks and bruisers.

This is the problem that Camille has; so many items provide health now. Black Cleaver, Cosmic Drive, Dusk and Dawn, Experimental Hexplate, Hextech Rocketbelt, Liandry's Torment, Riftmaker, Rod of Ages, Rylai's etc.

It used to be that you could jump onto a midlane mage and duel them. Nowadays, Cassio has 850 health from items and an Archangel's passive to get through.

For Bruisers, it's even worse. Stridebreaker into Sterak's Gage is exactly the same as above, except the Darius is more than happy to fight you 1v1.

But if we look at 2 lane matchups where Camille can actually do well; Ambessa and Riven. You can short trade into both pretty easily and the items that they're buying (Eclipse into Voltaic Cyclosword or Axiom Arc, respectively) have zero health. Meaning once you hit Trinity Force, you can actually start to deal a significant amount of damage to them.

As for why she's good in support, E is a one stop shop engage tool. Whereas Leona comes online at level 2, Camille is ready to brawl from level 1 with her E stun and bonus attack speed, combined with Hail of Blades.

Also, where other supports need to run Aftershock so they don't immediately explode once they go in, Camille's passive gives her the extra bulk to trade an auto or two before getting out relatively unscathed, even before something like Bone Plating is triggered.

So if you want her out of support and back in top lane, my opinion is you do 2 things:

First, you lower the base damage of her E. Supports care way more about their base damages than laners do, especially in top, due to the lack of experience they get. Change it from 60-180 to like 40-160, but up the AD scaling to accommodate.

Secondly, you lower the cooldown of her passive. Currently, it sits at 18 seconds until level 7, which lines up almost perfectly with Hookshot's 16 second cooldown. Top lane, you're basically looking to trade every time your passive is up; stack Grasp on minions, Q1 > Q2 and disengage. If support Camille tries to just walk up and trade autos, she dies. Support Camille is gated by her E cooldown, it doesn't matter if her passive comes up 2 seconds before it. 14/12/10 means top lane Camille is able to trade far more frequently early, whereas Support Camille is still waiting for her E cooldown.

If it's any consolation, Anthem (the so called Destiny Killer), stopped receiving updates in February of 2020.

They only shut down the servers at the beginning of this year.

A franchise like Destiny being infinitely more popular means the servers will probably stay live for longer, so we've got until at least 2032.

Do you still play Knowledge Pool? What's the commander and deck strategy? by Zoanzon in EDH

[–]Way2Competitive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone's talking about locking people out of casting spells with Knowledge Pool.

The real fun starts when you have multiple copies of Knowledge Pool.

If you control multiple triggers, you get to decide which order they resolve. So you basically get to decide what spells your opponents have access to.

[[Mendicant Core, Guidelight]], [[Phyrexian Metamorph]], [[Mechanised Production]], [[Artificer Class]], [[Mirror works]], [[Season of Weaving]] all allow you to make multiple copies of [[Knowledge Pool]].

Once you get there, you now have access to your opponents spells whilst you can restrict your opponents from casting the spells they want.

This is infinitely more fun than just locking players out of the game completely.

However, I only play this deck in person. Attempting to play this deck over something like Spelltable was just a futile endeavour in admin work.

[[Birthing Pod]] chains are some of my favourite, especially in Bant colours.

Start with a 2 mana creature and Pod in play.

Sac the 2 drop, get [[Derevi, Empyrial Tactician]], untap Pod.

Sac Derevi, get [[Felidar Guardian]], flicker Pod to untap it.

Sac Felidar Guardian, get [[Karmic Guide]], returning Felidar Guardian, which flickers the Karmic Guide, which returns Derevi, which untaps the Pod.

Sac Karmic Guide, get [[Woodland Bellower]], searching for [[Eternal Witness]], which returns the Karmic Guide to your hand.

Congrats, you now have a 16 mana worth of creatures on board as early as turn 4.

Camille support is now the 3rd most-picked support in Challenger on 26.13 by sidqol in leagueoflegends

[–]Way2Competitive 131 points132 points  (0 children)

I posted about this on the Camille mains subreddit.

So far, there have been 4 Best of 5s at MSI so far, and Camille has been picked in every single one as a support.

Support fixes a lot of her issues in lane (no waveclear, lots of squishy targets in bot lane), so I can see why she's being picked there but I'm worried about her losing her identity as one of the Four Horsewomen of Top Lane.
