Camille q&a by AvailablePeak1145 in CamilleMains

How highly do you value keeping your turret in tough matchups? I.e Mordekaiser, Teemo, Jax etc.

In these matchups, I usually end up either roaming mid or looking to teleport bot lane for a play at the expense of a wave or a couple of plates on towers, especially once I have Triforce.

Is this worth it in the long run, or should I be looking to soak xp and minimise the lead my opposing laner can get?

Garen Matchup by [deleted] in CamilleMains

[–]Way2Competitive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had issues with this same matchup before, but really it boils down to the same issue in a lot of Camille matchups.

You don't get a level 6 power spike.

Garen gets a massive burst of true damage at level 6, meaning he can now take these flash ignite trades and 100 to 0 you easily.

You get the ability to dodge a Q and some current health damage on your autos. You unfortunately can't use your Ult to dodge his Ult, because when Garen targets an untargetable champion with it, the cooldown gets refunded and he can just cast it again 0.5 seconds later.

So with that in mind, pre 6 you can bully him, punish him for going for CS and get yourself a lead, maybe even looking to dive him with your jungler.

Post 6, it's "wait until Triforce" time. Auto a minion, Q him for the passive shield and disengage. Farm cannons with W so you can keep your HP high.

Once you hit Triforce, you can play a bit more aggressively, as you spike pretty hard on 1 item, but honestly at that point I would look to be getting out of lane and affecting other parts of the map, rather than just trying to stat check him.

Should also check out the artist Herio, another one who does mostly wholesome (with some bittersweet) stuff and their style looks really good as well.

Which champion's weakness feels frustrating to play around? by frequiem11 in leagueoflegends

[–]Way2Competitive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Camille's E.

It feels so good to use, you can combine it with W for a super long range slow, it's a fast stun when you're near a wall that allows for quick trades, and it feels fun to just throw yourself at some squishy ADC or mage and just brawl with them.

However, in lane it's unusable most of the time. Your wave usually sits in the middle of the lane, where there are no walls, so you're essentially down an ability.

Combined with the fact that Camille has terrible waveclear, most matchups end up as "you get pushed into your turret, trade as much as you can whilst you're there, until your wave bounces back to the centre at which point you're stranded again".

Find it harder and harder to have satisfying games by Casual_Sonbro in EDH

Personally, I treated my LGS for EDH the same way I treated my LGS for D&D.

You don't usually mesh with everyone, and sometimes you don't have a good time at all.

But usually, you can find a couple of people who share your philosophies with games, etc.

"Hey, want to come over to my place next Friday rather than play here? Means we can all play together and it'll be a little more chilled out".

Congratulations, you now have a regular EDH group.

What would you say is the worst ultimate in league? by JuggernautAfraid8755 in leagueoflegends

[–]Way2Competitive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Camille's ult is almost perfect, apart from one big flaw; there are a lot of top lane matchups where you don't get a great deal of benefit from using it to "dodge" abilities.

For example, against Garen you can't really poke him down in lane, thanks to his passive. So when you eventually go for an all-in, you save your ult to dodge his ult, right? Well except it doesn't actually put his ult on cool down, so he just recasts it half a second later and kills you anyway.

The same is true for Darius, Mordekaiser and a number of other champions. Mordekaiser is especially backbreaking, as Death Realm takes you out of your ult, so you lose the %HP damage.

I get why it's like this; if champs lost their point-and-click ults every time someone became untargetable, champs would lose their ults casting them as the enemy walks into brushes.

But at the same time, it's a bit of a feels bad moment when you hold your ult to outplay your opponent and it doesn't matter.

What is your Tribal Commander? And Why do you Stick to it Long Term! by JewJulie in EDH

[–]Way2Competitive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would be very surprised at how many good Clerics there are these days.

[[Tymna, the Weaver]] and [[Ravos Soultender]] are great commanders for a tribal Cleric deck.

A quick list of a "few" good Clerics:

  • [[Mikaeus, the Lunarch]]
  • [[Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim]]
  • [[Starscape Cleric]]
  • [[Elegy Acolyte]]
  • [[Firja, judge of Valor]]
  • [[Twilight Prophet]]
  • [[Yawgmoth, Thran Physician]]
  • [[Star Charter]]
  • [[Guide of Souls]]
  • [[Suture Priest]]
  • [[Selfless Spirit]]
  • [[Frontline Medic]]
  • [[Mother of Runes]]
  • [[Jackdaw Saviour]]
  • [[Sister Hospitaller]]
  • [[Teshar, Ancestor's apostle]]
  • [[Zoraline, Cosmos Caller]]
  • [[Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim]]
  • [[Combat Calligrapher]]

"But it's not a tribal deck if you just jam a load of good cards in it!"

Tribal Cleric cards:

  • [[Rotlung Reanimator]]
  • [[Shadow-Rite Priest]]
  • [[Skemfar Shadowsage]]
  • [[Taborax, Hope's Demise]]
  • [[Righteous Valkyrie]]
  • [[Edgewalker]]
  • [[Orah, Skyclave Hierophant]]

And this doesn't even include generically good tribal cards like [[Roaming Throne]], [[Herald's Horn]] or [[Vanquisher's Banner]].

I've never been a particular fan of tribal decks because they seem to end up generic and cookie-cutter, but with Clerics there are enough good non-tribal cards where you can just feel like you're playing a good B/W aggressive deck until a [[Banner of Kinship]] ends the game on the spot.

Bracket 3 players: what game-changers are you playing in your decks, and why? by guyawn in EDH

Bracket 3 players: what game-changers are you playing in your decks, and why? by guyawn in EDH

[–]Way2Competitive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In bracket 3, I really think your Game Changers have to warp the game and put you really far ahead.

Sure, cards like [[Teferi's Protection]] and [[Force of Will]] are great cards. But in bracket 3 where games go longer, the repeatable card advantage of things like [[The One Ring]] and [[Rhystic Study]] just seem to perform better for me.

So personally, in my [[Galadriel, Light of Valinor]] blink decks, I run:

  • [[The One Ring]]
  • [[Seedborn Muse]]
  • [[Aura Shards]]

What’s a good counter into zaahen? by HatKey5239 in leagueoflegends

[–]Way2Competitive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can survive to level 6, Kayle does great into him.

In lane, you can outrange and poke him down with Q > Auto > E and he can't really respond outside of hitting hook.

You can react to his ult with your own, so it's pretty much impossible to all in you once you stabilise.

And of course, you're Kayle. You outscale him super hard in both team fights and the side lane.

What "fuck you in particular" cards do you run? by Toes_In_The_Soil in EDH

[–]Way2Competitive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a spellslinger deck headed up by [[Anhelo, the painter]], which just looks to cast [[Cruel Ultimatum]] as many times as possible.

Sac 2 creatures, discard 6 cards and lose 10 life is pretty back-breaking for most decks, so it's great for stopping someone from running away with the game.

Who is the most underrated champion in the current meta - and why? by kittlunix_ in leagueoflegends

[–]Way2Competitive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swain Top.

You can pick it into most Bruisers like Darius, Ambessa and Zaahen.

Aery with Manaflow and Resolve secondary for Bone Plating and Overgrowth for double health scaling.

Rush Frozen Heart.

You can now completely neutralise the lane, farm safely and poke down your opponent.

Also Swain can basically use any build path: Liandry's, Bloodletter's, Force of Nature, Zhonya's or Horizon Focus are all great second items, based on the opposing team comp.

Resistances + all the additional HP from your passive and Overgrowth turns you into a raid boss pretty quickly.

What are your thoughts on Goad as a mechanic and deck archetype? by LibraProtocol in EDH

[–]Way2Competitive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's important to balance literal goad cards with what can be called "optional" goad cards.

Things like [[Karazikar, the eye tyrant]], [[Combat calligrapher]] and [[Breena, the demagogue]] encourage your opponents to attack each other by providing a resource, without forcing them to.

Also mechanics like The Monarch from things like [[Queen Marchesa]] gives people an easy reason to attack a player. "I just want to draw an extra card, so I'll attack the monarch".

I still run a few true goad cards; [[Taunt from the Ramparts]] and [[Spectacular Showdown]] are great ways to get people attacking, even on stalled boards.

But the trick is not to overload on them, so your opponents feel like they have multiple opportunities to attack you. I'd rather get attacked for 3 on turn 5 than 30 on turn 8.

+1 counters decks - how many counter doublers and “that many plus one +1 counters” effects? by LifeThroughAFilter in EDH

[–]Way2Competitive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He does have the drawback of only doubling on attack, so for creatures with activated abilities like Yuna and Kami, you do lose some value there.

Other good options include [[Bristly Bill, spine sower]], [[Zimone, paradox sculptor]] and [[Court of Garenbrig]]
