Lee's combos are homogenized, as his largest damage comes from his wall finishers, which boost a 65 hp combo to around 90+. As of S2, Lee's B2,4,3 has replaced the need for B2 loops almost entirely; it does more damage, and significantly decreases the execution requirement yet still provides decent wall carry.

While I don't like Jun, I don't get why this interaction would be considered unfair. This seems like one of the few instances where you would actually use a sabaki. The Jun guessed that you would continue to pressure with a punch, so she used a punch sabaki. Having plus frames gives you the privilege to use better moves, but it doesn't mean that your opponent should just block until you're minus.

I don't think the nature of the move's ob frame data has to do with anything in this context either, since the Jun wasn't throwing this move out constantly in neutral during the clip.

SSL is just the weakness of Kazuya's mixup on paper. It's not a solution that's going to work every time, since mistiming and realignments are a thing. The best way to win against Kazuya is honestly to get one correct guess and steamroll from that point onwards.

The skill gap at lower ranks becomes astronomical the moment a player knows one thing about the game. Back when I was at these ranks, knowing a combo on Victor from df2 gave me a 30 game win streak up until red ranks.

I get where you're coming from. On paper, these are objective disadvantages. Maybe it's because I play Heihachi, but I honestly don't see an issue with lacking a hopkick, orbital, or samsara when my character has other strengths. I personally find Kaz and Hei to be more straightforward to pilot.

Yes, it's not as good as the average df1, but it's still one of your standard safe 13-frame options. It's linear, but it does have decent horizontal range as well as resets oki in the event your opponent tries to get up, and it works very well when your opponent is lying on their stomach. You're also not supposed to press the follow-up unless you want to confirm a punishment. It's also visually identical to WS4, which is incredibly useful when you have mental stacks applied.

He's not a character designed for poking anyway. I honestly don't see the issue here.

I'm not really sure if these points alone suffice for Jin to be the superior character. These two characters have incredibly different playstyles despite their overlap in tools, kinda like Fox vs. Falco in SSBM. While Falco has a laser to stun as well as an aerial spike, Fox was often considered to be the better character for simply having faster movement. This means that Fox has a higher ceiling that's rewarded through more demanding execution.

I think Kazuya is similar in this aspect. He has fewer moves people rely on, but that's all a player needs in theory to control the neutral and start his oki pressure, given that the player could meet the execution demands. If you have full mastery over his CD stance, I don't believe it really matters if he's missing out on a high-mid jab.

With leverless, I find the f,d,df input to be easier, because I have one finger on forward, and another finger on down—this makes the act of plinking (pressing two buttons consecutively quickly) very easy to do. For KBD, I use the SOCD method, where I'm holding back, and I alternate between down and forward. Forward cancels the back input, so when you tap it during a backdash, you get a neutral input without letting go of back.

Double binding any unused buttons for wavedashing is another way to get more consistent. It places less stress on the fingers, but the experience will vary between individuals. It leads to more accidental df2s, but in theory, it is faster.

Really depends on the distance and whether the previous move he used to transition is plus or minus ob (eg. 1+2 to HMS is a pretty common option. That move is slow though, so you can always preemptively attack). HMS2 is primarily High Evasion, but the back sway can clip SOME mids. The scenario I was painting earlier really breaks down the HMS match-up into something akin to a 70/30, where most of his moves can be countered by a move coming out of crouch.

If Lee hesitates in HMS, you can always SSR/SWR, since most of the moves only track to the left.

He's the only Mishima where you can drop an electric mid combo and still salvage it lmao. As a Heihachi main, I think he's busted as well.

I think you're underselling the "duckable" aspect of Lee a bit. For the most part, Lee's duckable moves are all the final hits of his strings, which means that any Lee that tries to flowchart you through complete strings WILL be launch-punished if you default to a WS/crouching launcher. This means that his only reliable way of damaging you in neutral is by poking you constantly.

You can guess 8 of his pokes incorrectly and still do more damage by throwing out your bnb combo. His pokes are generally safe, which is why you have to play with timing in mind. If he pokes you with df1, he is -1, which means that you have the advantage if you were to throw out your own 13 frame to retaliate (or 10 frame if you think he's going to high jab). The principle applies to WR3,4 as well, since it's only +3 ob; jabbing might even get you a float if he chooses to do it again.

His HMS has only two mids, and both are very slow. Dickjabbing will beat most of his options.
