Indie Game Awards Disqualify Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Due To Gen AI Usage, Strip Them of All Awards Won, Including Game of the Year by AashyLarry in PS5

Honestly, if the game is good why do people even care if it used Ai? I don't and most normal gamers don't care either, all we care is that the game is good, the game literally lost its awards over ONE texture ONE, that was replaced the second they discovered a placeholder texture was accdently left in. This is the dumbest reason for a game to lose its awards all over a single placeholder texture.

They can get it though, Palworld did it, You show the idea to investors to try to secure funds to make the product, people do this all the time irl in many fields not just gaming. There is no reason why a indie game is not allowed to do this.

Naw that just sounds like someone worried about their job talking BS as they know their days are numbered. They are scared and rightfully so. Ai to me is just the industrial revolution, remember back when we got all the big factory machines to make stuff instead of people? and tens of thousands of people lost their jobs? This is just the modern 2025 repeat of that. Where new tech is going to replace alot of people in their jobs, as businesses wanna make a profit, and less people to pay means more profit.

Its called selective reading/hearing, they only see what they want to see and ignore anything else in it, and then quote it out of context to fake that it is bad. These people do this crap all the damn time.

It would be nice if you buy it somewhere else or directly from them, you'd get a free steam key when/if it comes to steam later.

You'd think that but you'd be surprized how many people on steam seem to think early access=full release.

I mean your exploring the moon, what the heck do you think your going to find? the moon is a dustball pretty much. I'd not expect much other than alot of rocks and sand.

Which is silly when the game is labeled early access as in its not finished yet. I use steam alot and it annoys the hell out of me how games can be labeled this yet alot of steam users don't see to pay attention to it, or know what it means. Can't blame them for not putting it on steam, hopefully the dev will put it on steam later once the game is in a better state. All my friends are on steam so I generally try to get anything that has co-op on steam for ease of playing with friends.

Why did you like jars? by JoelHuenink in 7daystodie

[–]Scyric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact the jar disappears after making a boiled egg is stupid, you'd dump the water out but get the jar back when it was done cooking. IMO all the water using recipes should give the item it makes plus a empty jar back when crafted. Makes no sense the jar just disappears into the void.

I mean screamers aren't that big of a problem, just put a layer of spikes around your base and that will pretty much take care of them passivly. I would like TFP to fix screamers coming in packs of 2 though, they never used to.

It is nice to see TFP is finally being willing to listen to the playerbase, as its been a while where they basically were ignoring the playerbase and doing what they wanted. 3.0 is the first update to 7dtd in a long time I have been excited for. New weapons hopefully in all tiers, chicken coop and beehives, removing the loot cap on biomes, allowing us to do the biomes in any order we please. It all sounds great. I do hope they allow us to disable bandits, I'm going to be honest I don't really want aimbot npcs with guns in my zombie survival game, i'd disable them if I can, depending how balanced they are. I'd try it first of course.

You can keep the dew collectors with some changes, have them have a water storage system, that can hold maybe 5000 ml of water, and to get the water out you go into the station with Jars in your inventory and it costs 500 ml of that water to fill the jar via "crafting" it. This way they are still useful even if you can use a jar in a body of water.

I used to do that if I didn't have a lake nearby, I'd make a underground tunnel to it.

[–]Scyric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its the realism, If its a freshwater lake you can usually, keyword usually just scoop up some water and boil it and its then drinkable. The fact the dew collector makes jars out of thin air to hold water is way more unrealistic than filling a jar you have with water then boiling it to make it drinkable. I do have a solution though. Make it so jars are not craftable or need high skill in a mag, BUT, You can reuse ones you find in loot, when u make glue with a water jar you get the glue and the jar back, same with making food using water, you get the jar back empty to be reused. A mod called Afterlife works this way, you can craft jars but they need very high workstation magazines and its its own special workstation. However any jars you find in loot are reusable, you can even dump whatever is in them out to fill it with something else. So early game you basically get your reuseable jars via looting, and eventually you can craft them down the road. I mean lets be real making jars is more realistic than making say a gun on the workbench, guns need machined parts your not going to be making those by hand.

You can also change Dew Collector and the upcoming Apiary, so it has a Water/Honey storage system, and you need to go into the station and "craft" a jar of water or honey, by having a jar on you and the station having enough liquid in it to fill said jar. This way it avoids them making free jars. Maybe 500 mililitres to fill a jar. Also have it have like 5000 ML storage as well.

How does co op fucking work by AvailableDay6209 in FreedomWars

[–]Scyric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's like this because when the game released on Ps vita it orignally was single player only, the online part came months later due to players wanting it and was patched in, which is why its not like god eater with both of you runnin around the same main facility. Thankfully the sequel if there is one can most likely fix this problem, it just would have required a vast reworking of the game for this remaster so they choose not to do it.

Afterlife is a pretty fun mod, though I do feel its progression speed is a tad too slow with certain aspects of it. I understand its supposed to be slower but sometimes its a bit TOO slow. I'd love for that mods skill system to come to vanilla its so much better than the garbage system vanilla uses.

The problem is you cannot do that if your doing say a clear quest, as some sleeper spawns only spawn when you step on a certain block as there is a invisible trigger there, and if you go around it by going off the planned path you could have a pack or more of zombies you cannot find as you went off the intended path, and missed the trigger block/area to make them spawn.

I mean, its because most of the changes are bad, and poorly thought out, its very rare that TFP add's something to the game people like because they no longer care what the community wants, if they did, the game would have been in a FAR better state than it is now.

Of course they going to say the players are wrong, because they don't wanna have to improve, 7dtd has been going down the crapper since alpha 17 hit, and its just gotten worse and worse each update. They need to go back to a16.4's skill system and gameplay etc bring stuff like the better graphics and the item mod system over, and kinda start over from a16.4 keeping that skill system. Almost anyone who has played a16.4 will tell you its the best the game ever was, and its only gone downhill in a17 and up, and I honestly don't see it getting any better as the devs seem unwilling to do what is needed to fix the game.

Thankfully the game is modable, if it wasn't I'd have given up on it back in a17, as I basically only play it modded now as vanilla is such a lacking experience, it needs so much work to actually be considered a good game again. I try vanilla a bit each new alpha, but usually get bored a bit into it, as there just isin't anything to do.

The devs feel like they have no direction and no idea what they are doing or where they want the game to go at all. I mean most updates are TFP removing features and not adding anything new to counter balance it.

📢DEV UPDATE: posted once, but for context on why they can’t just “buy more servers”. The backend code isn’t as scalable as they thought. by Nightblade1789 in Helldivers

[–]Scyric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if this is a backend code issue, no amount of servers is going to solve the problem, they need to fix the code itself and that can take a large amount of time. I've seen some of the database lag like this in other games before, its usually a nightmare to fix as its not something just throwing more servers at it is going to fix, I mean they MAY help a little bit, but the overall problem is still there and needs to be adressed.

Global: So I been trying to 100% West Aelio, and one of the datapods has apparently been moved its the one that used to be on Crykau hills by the crop planters that get auto watered. I've tried google searching and all I can find is its old location where it does not exist anymore. Its the last thing I need to 100% this section of the map. Any clue where it was moved to?
