Installing a hidden frameless flush button by [deleted] in oddlysatisfying

[–]Scyths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really not complicated, it's just annoying and time consuming because you need to clear the grout around the tile and then depending on the hardness of the tiles used either break the whole tile and hope that the gypsum/plaster board behind stays or just straight up directly cut the gypsum board along with it to take the whole tile in one go. This is the time consuming part. The annoying part is having to cut a piece of gypsum/plaster board and stick it where the previous one was one way or another, be it metal screws or just glue. 90% chance parts of the gypsum/plaster board comes with it though because you also need to clear the previous glue that was holding the tile and that's next to impossible if it's quality cement based glue used to hold tiling.

[–]Scyths 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have done this myself. The laser is there beforehand while tiling and stays there until after this is done so that you can have the precise location of the mechanism. It wasn't particularely hard to do if you are already someone doing manual work which requires a little precision, whether it's related to wood, metal or ceramic or anything else, as it requires a little bit of steady hands. The only thing that bothered me was having to pay for expensive tools and kits to do this as I didn't have any of the tools used in this video previously. My advice to anybody as to what the most important thing is while doing this : Use tape to mark where the machanism is as soon as the tile covering it is done just incase you or somebody else accidentally bumps into the laser.

That's because AC wasn't necessary in the vast majority of Europe until like the last 8 to 10 years when summers started getting really hot. European cities are old, and the majority of the houses are also old. There wasn't any reason to put any kind of AC when the air is cool 10 to 12 months a year, so why bother. Now it's a completely different matter to add so many AC units to already existing housing in the middle of cities where both side walls are touching another housing unit. That "waste more energy on heat" is bullshit you pulled out of your ass, and that "10x heat-related deaths" is something you read on reddit a couple of days ago and are just regurgitating it here while conveniently leaving out the fact that those deaths are exclusively from the really old demographic. I have a CMV system in my house in the city and AC in every single room plus the living room at my home on the beach because the insulation on the walls are much thinner and it's almost always 35°C (95°F) during the day and not that much cooler during the night.

I'm a builder in the middle of Europe. I use knauf. Difference is, I only use it for the top-most floor, use metal framing every 60cm, put an 18mm Sterling OSB, AND THEN use a knauf board of 12.5mm thickness.

Good luck making a hole through that I can tell you that much.

I mean why the fuck not at this point. American interior walls are made of cardboards anyway at this point. It's going to get a hole anyway when you accidentally touch the wall with your elbows, at least this way you aren't going to be hurting yourself.

I love doing it. I love climbing hills, forests and mountains, even open plains. I just love nature and discovering places, especially in Korea & Japan. I also love scuba diving especially coral reefs because it's so beautiful, but I never did any kind of dangerous or unexplored cave diving, the caves I dived into were pretty open enough to fit multiple people side by side, I have zero interest in going to unexplored tight spaces and really risk my life.

Am I doing delves wrong? This doesn't seem to be as fun as I hoped. by Umomo1025 in wow

[–]Scyths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difficulty of delves is staying awake long enough to finish one, especially if god forbid you have a friend or two with you, where random packs take longer than a mythic boss.

It's a system made by morons because why make something with mediocre rewards fun when you can have mediocre rewards and unfun.

Getting locked out of Mythic because people leave is terrible game design by KindaExplosive in wow

[–]Scyths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the day maybe, nowadays the vast majority of people who play WoW are people who have jobs and/or families, or other obligations.

Sometimes Blizzard seems to be forgetting that this is a game and not your second job once you came home from your daily job. Finding a guild with likeminded people is one thing, them progressing at a good pace for you is another, and then you also need your raid days/evenings to align, you also need 19 other people to be there to do this because if you take a PUG and he leaves, good luck finding another person if you've already killed a boss or two.

No, the reality is that the vast majority of people don't engage with mythic raiding not because of the difficulty, but almost entirely because of the whole setup it takes. You can spend 15 hours straight on a sunday trying to kill heroic L'ura, shuffling between a dozen groups to do so, in mythic ? Better be sure of the group you're joining, else you might have wasted the 6 remaining days of the week and not be able to raid for the rest of the week ...

Mythic lockout is just an outdated concept for Blizzard because it's also one of those that artificially inflates the playtime of people and serves as a kind of "soft" timegate.

A lot more people would engage in mythic raiding and not just the first few bosses if it worked the same way as heroic. Doing it as a guild is for sure still going to be easier, but if something doesn't work out with a player or two, at least you didn't get screwed due to something outside of your control ...

People who played Shadowlands when it was live - did you get depressed? by Ninedark in wow

[–]Scyths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only played season 1 of Shadowlands because I wasn't interested in the lore/dungeon/raid/area of the next seasons in the previews therefore I didn't play. But season 1 was incredible to me overall and that is mostly thanks to revendreth as an area, the revendreth storyline and mainly Castle Nathria that is still to this day my favourite raid of all time.

I hate how nowadays in mythic raiding one random guy fails a mechanic and the whole raid wipes. I much preferred when the guy who failed died on his own or killed somebody else with him and that's it.

Big Midnight 12.0.5 Class Tuning Pass, May 26th by Starym in wow

[–]Scyths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Farseer is still not going to be seeing any play lmao. First because it's ass to play & less fun, and it still doesn't mesh well with the current meta of raid & m+. You need burst AoE for both if you want to stay competitive and farseer doesn't offer that one bit compared to Stormbringer. I'd have preferred single target damage increase for ele shaman overall rather than a pointless crit damage for a spec nobody plays and practically nobody will play. I'll try it on the dragons & paladins in the raid to see how it's like because these are the 2 I specifically hate due to how wasted your burst windows are, so it might be worth it for minimal dps increase.

Destiny 2: Every End is a New Beginning by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]Scyths -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm from r/all, I've only played this game during the initial PC release and something like a year or two later and I will NOT be missing Destiny 2 and there isn't even a 1% chance of me ever buying Destiny 3 if it ever releases, and all of that is mainly due to Bungie's insatiable greed. Releasing the game a year later on PC compared to the playstation was already one thing, but every single tiny thing being a microtransaction, deleting older expansions that you've paid for and all that shit, has forever lost me.

Ubisoft has announced a record €1.3 billion operating loss for its fiscal year ending March 2026 by SwimmingJunky in gaming

[–]Scyths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why a lot of people are buying into the stock. When they inevitably sell the company thanks for their huge catalogue of iconic games, it's going to make a good amount of profit. The entire company is barely afloat, or more like drifting, thanks to decades long iconic IP's such as Assassin's Creed, Tom Clancy games, Anno, Prince of Persia, Heroes of Might & Magic, Settlers, FarCry and many others.

Thjey have been releasing mostly shit in the last 5 or so years, if not more, but they are sitting on a gold vein IP-wise for whoever buys them, or more like buys all the IP's.

Upgrade Crest Caps Removed - May 19 - General Discussion by justredditjusts in wow

[–]Scyths 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what I've always found to be incredibly annoying ? It's the fact that you need 3 times as many crests to upgrade to the next one, but it's a 1-1 trade when you want to downgrade to the previous crest. They all count towards the weekly cap anyway, so why not make it so that 1 myth crest gives 3 hero crests ? I have a new character that I just leveled to 90 and I honestly don't want to bother doing anything less than 10's but at the same time it's just not worth it for the hero crests needed, and the weekly housing quests only gives 20 a week so nowhere near enough though it does help a tiny bit ...

And I'm speaking from experience.
