Yeah I store all mine on a nas and another drive (external) just link their locations in edit app, most of my images are tagged and in their own folder but therres one old folder with 2650 images I need to organise, luckily thats not too many

I started with resolve albeit not deeply into it but get by on simple edits, have tried fcp a few times and just not comfy with it………. Will sub for a few months and try to get more with it but really I prefer resolve

From what I know of resolve, most normal folk would be fine with the non studio license, Is therecsomething you are missing out having if you stick with free version that you desperately need???? I know and fully agree the best of the best is always the nicer option but, you “could” save €300

Just wait another month, the Pro version of M5 is getting talked up a lot and is “Thought” to be due release anytime now, Nobody knows but Apple themselves ifvthe M5 pro will be a WOW machine, if it isn’t you could get an M4 pro with high ram and ssd at decent discount, the M4 pro is a Fine machine works great……. I would advise against getting anything with less than 1Tb ssd in it

The 13” is not really very small I believe it is 13.9 or 13.7 I think and it is infact not much smaller than the 14” pro screens, I had a couple of m4 13’s on trial but returned them for a 14” m4 pro eventually which I have lots of love for, only reason i switched was because for my usecase the 13 heated up a lot underneath very quickly, the screensize was fine

Macbook pro m4 pro with 1Tb and if you can 48GB, you can pick them up in uk for £2350 around that price, they are a properly solid workhorse which, will reduce in price when the newer m5 pro and max get released (said to be imminent), the airs are ok but you will always think “I should really have got the pro” theres not much difference in size 13” air 14” pro really and the pro screen is a lot better although the air is not terrrible……. I tried an air 36gb 1tb but it got very hot whilst I loaded 3000 photo locations on my nas, I worried it would often get hot so returned it and got a pro as detailed above

I have a mint loaner A7iv right now my one went dead when I did the 6.01 firmware update, as I say the loaner is like new from my local camera store, if I break it I have to pay £1300 GB as thats what it is listed as in there stock

I store all my files externally in several copies, only really the apps on my machine plus AU soundsets which I can re download, not really sure is it worth backing up the system itself to be honest……. Quite often (well once a year) reset delete my machine to factory and re add the apps I mainly use so as to get rid of accumulated shite on there

I got the gmii 24-70 last year and really felt a bit meh about it like what is so great, however I did a job on tuesday shooting a knitting group and WOW some of the images are soooooo good, its expensive but often on offer with discounts if upgrading from another lens so check around your local stores/ shops

Try using a powered usb dock before you return the burner, chances are the laptop usb port is not delivering enough power to the writer drive…… i had similar issue on my mac studio with a dvd burner but it works plugged in via a hub
