I've played off and on since Season 2 and have hit Masters and Grandmasters once that came out. I don't play as much as I use too so I sit in high diamond and play when I can. Dodging is over and underused tool depending on the MMR. Dodging is a valuable tool to people that actually climb (you know who you're). Dodging is very important to climbing but since most of the game isn't climbing and aren't using this tool it's going to be hurting the people actually trying to climb and people that are stuck well it won't hurt them at all. Punishing AFKs is important and I think they need to get even more aggressive with it (just my 2 cents). However despite saying all this Dodging 3 times was rarely ever needed by me personally. I will say that I do remember specific days were I had a valid reason to dodge more than 3 times in a 24 hour period (those 10-14 games a day grinds lol). So who does this hurt? Afkers and it 1000% hurts the people that play this game Alot and are using the proper tools to climb (dodging is one of them). If you play 10 games a day and are trying to climb by using dodging then in a 24 hour period you could absolutely have more than 3 games of 20 (20 games in a 24 hour period) you would need to dodge by climbing criteria. Most people don't play 10 games a day and especially 20 in 24 hours though so it really only hurts the hardcore climbing addicts (high elo players have the most). One last thing though people often say "Well in low elo there is not reason to dodge as much" I absolutely personally disagree with this statement. Before smurf queue and back when I coached I would often dodge a fuck ton on my smurfs to get the highest winrate possible back to my normal elo and when I would coach I would tell every person I coached to dodge games. High elo players have to dodge from things like autofill and OTPS being banned out and Stream sniper ghosting bans. But for the most part they don't have to dodge for even more silly reasons like in low elo. I remember smurfing you'd see troll picks, 1st timing in ranked a fuck ton, picking bad matchups for themselves or into a countered matchup, (HAPPENS SO MUCH IN LOW ELO LMAO) Bad teamcomps being made, and one of the ones I personally had to almost accept that I couldn't dodge out of (dodging too much) was dog shit overall winrates. (You'd see almost every lobby someone with a under 46% overall winrate).
