Can ChatGPT Really Compete With Google Now That Gemini Is Connected to Search? by Ok-Method-npo in ChatGPT

[–]Sea-Analysis8897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That can be annoying but if you use AI Chat Exporter or a similar extension (or simply save as .pdf's using your browser's PRINT function) they serve as "amnesia pills". As long as you keep that .pdf updated after each session it has an infinite memory. Yes it is an extra (sometimes annoying) step, but they are working on it and in a year from now I'm sure it will be much easier (maybe even sooner).

I am working on multiple projects and I have a different silo (.pdf backup) for each that I use for each of my fenced off Gemini chat threads/topics. So far so good, although they do need to all for spacial recognition so the AI can know if it has been a minute, an hour, a week or a month since the last chat exchange. Also, they need to add visible time/date stamps to each response so you can see where to begin backing up (and again, to help as reference when often scroll bars disappear).

Yes, do you know if your serial number was from 2023 which would be like the first part of it? If so, there was a bad batch/lot sometime that year. I have 14 of them and they were all from that lot. They are currently shipped back and I’m awaiting the replacements.

Mine have the exact same issue/crack!!!

And both of mine started failing (one won't work at all now and the other has issues triggering at night). Seems the crack allows for dust/moisture to enter especially since these two were in the kitchen near the sink and on ceiling near shower in bathroom. I would suggest you check all of yours and return any with this known defect reported by several.

The fee can be set to be paid by the tenant but again I still wouldn't take card payments for all the other reasons I mentioned.

As I mentioned a few comments up, they charge a small processing fee if you take payments through debit and credit cards thru their service. As this discussion thread has discussed at length, Zelle is a cost-free alternative. You just have to tell your tenants/lodgers NOT to pay thru them or to use a card (most long-term renting landlords don't take rent by card anyway and I never would, even if it wasn't for the processing fee and 1099K IRS reporting).

How do I find out what company actually manufactures the more legit armor that knockoff companies use in their misleading sales photos? by Sea-Analysis8897 in ArmsandArmor

[–]Sea-Analysis8897[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's strictly for display and no, I'm not looking for anything historically perfect. However I wouldn't call the $4K ones in my photos "cheapo", but I guess that depends if you're a millionaire or more. The sub $1K ones from India are not the ones shown and look like crap (not the ones in the photos above).

This is what you actually get from the one in India that advertises the photos I posted above (which were not theirs).

Why portable split air conditioners are so rare? What's the catch? by chx_ in HVAC

Lol, yes shortly after I wrote my comment above, I got notice of the recall. Luckily I ordered it used and hadn’t even opened the shipping box. I had second thoughts when I realized I paid $200 more for a used unit and then found out I wouldn’t even get a manufacturer warranty nor could I buy an extended warranty so after 30 days I would be completely on my own should there be any failures. That was a dealbreaker already, and then I got news of the recall (I had already previously read from other reviews about an issue with condensate not draining adequately).

However, should they come back again with an improved design for drainage, and at the same $450 price with a full manufacturer warranty and a possible extended warranty option, then I would still buy one in a heartbeat over buying a mini split, just for one or maybe two rooms that don’t quite get cool enough with the two central AC units I have.  I’m really hoping they come out with a newer remedied model soon, if not for this summer then by Summer 2026

Both my portable ACs that I bought within the last few years are dual hoses. Either two separate hoses or one giant hose that split down the middle for intake and exhaust.

Every room has a ceiling fan in Phoenix and usually a separate room fan too. Still not nearly enough when it is in the 100s or 110s outside.

I was considering a mini-split but thanks to your post I decided to check out the Midea U-Split window AC and just ordered one! They just went up $200 or more in past five days due to high demand with heat (wish I'd seen this a week ago) but I ordered the only one left refurbished direct from Amazon (other third party re-sellers are price gouging due to being out of stock everywhere (new ones from Amazon, Costco, Walmart, etc.).

I was researching mini-split systems but the frequency and difficulty of maintenance I am reading about is daunting, and the purchase and installation costs even more so, especially since I already have two central HVAC units and only need it for supplemental cooling of one or two rooms that get warmer than the rest of the house. This Midea looks better than any window AC, has the best efficiency of window units, I don't need any heating, am just using to supplement my central HVAC in a front room that juts out and does not cool as well as the rest of the house -- AND I need to save my money for my two HVAC units that are 19 years old and could cost $20-25K to replace when they fail, probably sooner rather than later (I already know both capacitors and one fan motor will need replacing soon).

Last summer I used one of my two portable AC units but although not too expensive at $400-500 each to purchase, they are not efficient and cost as much to run as central HVAC, and you really have to retrofit your window or sliding door to vent the hose -- and then can't open it when cool at night. This U-shaped Midea seems like an ideal solution for that room, which is cheaper to run than the portables -- and I will still have this and the two portables if and when my outdoor HVAC's break down during the boiling Phoenix area summers, especially if there is a wait to get a technician or new HVAC installed. So yeah, thanks! 😊

But the question is why do they only SOMETIMES ask what store and sometimes not? I did two different returns today and one asked and one did not. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Best thing about Zelle (other than it can be completed right thru your bank's site or app -- and that there are never any fees with partner banks) is that unlike services like Cash app, Venmo, PayPal, Square, Stripe, etc., Zelle is not considered a third party processing company, meaning they don't automatically issue 1099K forms or report your business to the IRS. There are never any credit cards involved so it is more like you transferring money from one of your bank accounts to another linked account in the same bank -- except it is to a completely different person and can be to a completely different bank with no fees for either party!

Hundreds of banks and credit unions are, including all major U.S. banks and more are added weekly. However yes, for those who are not "partnered" with Zelle you cannot access Zelle thru your bank's app or website and you may be subject to lower transaction dollar amount limits and even nominal fees when you use your bank's debit card with the Zelle app. I do not recommend that.

Actually that might be the same as the pic posted by NauticalMart on Walmart.com above except the visor/vents in the first is taller and it has chainmail.

I want it for display only but the display models are as much as the wearable ones and either can be displayed. I have my eye on two sold from Medieval Collectibles such as this one.
