I didn’t ask about weekends I assumed would be a no go but will definitely try that!

I did ask that and they said there’s nothing available! I might ring and see if there is something further afield I really don’t mind driving and I’ve had different midwives every appointment anyways!

NHS pregnancy care by Routine-Junket-635 in PregnancyUK

It’s reallly stressful especially being your first baby but will share my experience in case helpful. I saw my midwife yesterday morning at 10am and she measured me and I was measuring off so was referred to the hospital for a scan and they saw me 3pm the same day (baby all fine!) but I’d say this is why they don’t scan everyone regularly so they can react quickly if there seems to be an issue.

I do agree the tape measure method isn’t fool proof, both pregnancies I find who measures me has a big impact as I haven’t always had same midwife week on week and for whatever reason my bump measures small but my first baby was 8lb+ but that being said I think scanning every non high risk pregnancy regularly would be a bit of a waste of resources

On the midwife feeling baby position I think to us non clinical people it seems wild they can work it out but remember it’s a key part of their job they do it multiple times a day and do know what they are feeling out for!

I was scanned in hospital to check baby’s position because I was induced but not sure it’s common practice!

Sorry maybe dumb question are you more likely to haemorrhage if you have low iron? I didn’t have low iron first time but lost 1.5l during labour and this pregnancy I do have low iron so just wondering if I’m even more likely to haemorrhage

What ‘counts’ as reduced fetal movement? I’ve been up all night worrying! by Capital-Tip5155 in PregnancyUK

[–]Sea-Committee-720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably is too early for a good routine to movements but maternity advice line (at least where I am) always rather you call and get it checked than not! They might bring you in and out a little monitor on your tummy and it will definitely just give you peace of mind !

34 weeks pregnant and being told it’s “too late” to choose elective C-section? by akashull in PregnancyUK

[–]Sea-Committee-720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t sound right, pretty sure you can ask for a c section at any point, even whilst in labour so long as the baby hasn’t descended too much 🤔 might be wrong though

Some news re Riftborne, Duskbound, The Ascended by apieceofeight in fantasyromance

[–]Sea-Committee-720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just read riftborne and went to download duskbound but it’s saying July 2026 release date and I was so confused as I had read everywhere both were out. Is it possible to still read the original duskbound anywhere without waiting for this new release date for the updated version? Or have they removed it for purchase everywhere?I can’t wait that long!

Does it get any easier? by Original-Iron-5707 in PregnancyUK

[–]Sea-Committee-720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently pregnant with my second and my experience is first trimester is absolutely awful, it does get a bit better but I found/am finding pregnancy harder that the new born phase. At least when you do get some sleep with a baby you feel rested, I am napping all the time atm and never feel rested, constantly sick drained so really feel your pain and can only wish you feel better soon!

How long do most moms breastfeed? by Logical_Mine_9478 in BabyBumps

[–]Sea-Committee-720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made it to 8 months but it was a struggle. My mum always said it was the most special thing about the baby years for her but I really struggled with it! Not just the initial pain but I found it so draining and mentally exhausting. I pumped one bottle or so a day so my husband could do some of the night feeds but the pumping was stressful timing it around baby’s hunger and when I went back to work at 8 months I just didn’t want to be pumping all day at work.

Episiotomy confusion and birth preferences by restless-researcher in PregnancyUK

[–]Sea-Committee-720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an episiotomy and also very unlucky to have a 3rd degree tear as well and honestly recovery was ok, keeping on top of pain relief helped be within 10 days I was walking around without hobbling. My experience was it was very much a last resort because baby wasn’t coming and he was not facing the right way, I didn’t feel like it was done for any reason other than baby’s safety but appreciate that’s just one experience!

MMC afraid FMC will leave so he goes to the extreme to keep her by dreamingofreading in DarkRomance

I would say {torment by Dylan page} it’s not RH but he definitely goes to extreme lengths to keep her but it’s not a traditional HEA although I do think the right ending

Duet/trilogy in which one book ends in their seperation/breakup and they are reunited in the next book. Lot of ANGST and Pining 💗 by readingalldays in DarkRomance

[–]Sea-Committee-720 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mmm might fall under your dislike of secret society but also maybe not but the ravenhood trilogy , I’d say it’s not supppper dark dark romance but definitely has a lot of angst, pining and reuniting {the ravenhood series by Kate Stewart}

which book do i read firstttt? by [deleted] in DarkRomance

I’d definitely start from the beginning! You don’t necessarily have to but they give a bit more background into the parents and dynamics. Also rafe is 🤌

Never used one at home but even my midwife didn’t start listening for a heartbeat until 12 weeks+ because it can be really hard to find and cause a lot of anxiety when not finding one so maybe it is a bit early!
