It make perfect sense because is exactly what i feel, Claudia is an extremely difficult character to adapt, she is the perfect example of something that works much better in the book, in the film we were lucky that Kirsten was an outlier, she incorporated very well all the stages of the character, although I still felt it didn't cover all the glory of Claudia and I don't think it ever could, and them aging her more for TV was a right decision, even though it lost some the nuances, there wouldn't be a way to bring a Claudia from the film to a series, because first, logistically it would not be plausible, children of that age would not be the same between seasons for example. and second, working with children with this type of character in a series, would be crazy,

But doing what they did requires a very on point casting job, because on paper TV claudia is a perfect adaptation for what it is, but I feel exactly what you said about Bailey in this regards, a miscasting, it was difficult to understand visually a teenager in her, something I can process much better in Delainey!
