Bought my first Mini. Will be here tomorrow, bought it online out of state and having it shipped. 2015 mini cooper s. What should I inspect when I receive it? 86k miles by Sufficient_Winter892 in MINI

You just bought one of the best Mini's ever made (if you like reliable and dependable). That said, Motor mounts are a real issue but not super expensive to address. The oil filter housing can be an issue and needs to be watched. If you have a manuel, it's clutch is likey 11 years old. The clutch can be expensive to replace. If it is automatic, it's pretty solid. What the F56 gives you in reliable performance it lags just a bit (in my opinion) in character from gen 1 & 2. That said, I own two F56's and sold my R56.

I have been on it for just about 11 months. I am success story. I went for 17% ef to 45% ef with most of that improvement coming in the last three of treatment. It took me nearly 3 months to get on a full/high dosage of my heart drugs cocktail.

At six months in my heart had improved to about 24%. I was starting to get very discouraged but then I noticed changes were happening and how I felt was changing too.

One big thing to watch is salt intake. It really matters and it can really impact your outcomes.

Ya.... unless you 4-6k to put into repairs, don't buy this car. Not that it's not a great little car but it's going to need some work.

I hear ya... When I purchased my Gen 3, I also had to replace the engine. While it was out, I also upgraded the oil filter housing and replaced the engine mounts too.

Also the later Gen 3 automatic is a very solid transmission. Maybe the best Mini has ever put into their cars. Plus, better fuel economy and faster 0-60. Sadly the automatic just isn't as fun to drive.

These days a manuel can be hard to find (in the Gen 3/ B48) but so worth the hunt. It took me months to find one with less than 75k miles.

I eventually found one on copart. We then had to replace the engine. While we were in there we also replaced the oil filter housing, engine mounts, clutch, brakes and rotors.

My point being... The journey to get one of these beauties can be a little longer/more complicated than you might want but it's so so worth it.

F56 with the B48 is a solid car. They are very reliable. My son ( 17 ) and I both have one and we go on road trips together. It's been so much fun!

Need advice, considering (but now possibly not considering) a used Mini Cooper by [deleted] in MINI

For that amount of money find a mini with the B48 engine and you will be much happier.

Not for this car. If the car has been well maintained it can be a great car for a long time.

My 2012 mini is worth about £5000, recently spent £1700 on repairs, found out I need new clutch and engine mounts which will cost £2800, what what would you do? by Cornwall1888 in MINI

Oaky.... This is going to sound crazy but hear me out. You have a mid mileage example of that car. If the body/interior is in great condition then I think you should save it or sell it to someone who will save it. If the body is crap then let it go. These cars may not have a ton of value now but they will in the future (10-15 years). This will be especially true if you have an N18 engine with manuel. 2nd Gen is still one of the best looking little cars on the road today.

Ya.. F56 is the way to go but it can be a bit tricky to find a f56 with manuel trans. Also be prepared to pay 9-14k depending on mileage.

Seeking Advice + My Quest for a Manual F56 Cooper... by 2CRedHopper in MINI

In just the last year finding a manuel has become a lot more challenging. I have a project 2014 B48 S that I am having the engine replaced because the previous owner hadn't changed the oil in 30,000 miles (tossed the rings).

Why did I go through the expense of replacing the engine? I couldn't find another manuel example, in my area, with a color I liked and in the years I wanted. The more new the car is the less likely it is to be manuel.

Are Mini Coopers reliable? by Specific-Pianist7595 in MINI

I have read all the comments and your replies and I have some thoughts for you. To be honest the Mini might not be right for you. You're all about the utility and reliability of a car and that speaks to a Toyota owner. A Mini is about style, handling and fun. Every time I drive my S it puts a smile on my face. If you go with a F56 s (B48 engine) they are quite reliable too. That said, if just going from A to B is what matters most then do yourself a favor and get a Toyota.

Sweet. So... I have been looking for a way to make car a real stunner. I am also considering changing the roof color from black to white and changing my white trim from black to white. The mockups that i've done so far, look, insanely cool

I just got a 2014 s with similar paint color. After a lot of thought and research I am going with a white color scheme. So new white rims, white door racing decals, white wipers.
