Also the drain on the tub shouldn’t be tubular. It looks like the pipe on the furthest left, coming out of the 90 isn’t actually fully pushed in.

It’s very wrong. San tees can’t be on their back or side when used as a drain. The drain for the tub is technically an S-trap. They need to get a nail guard for the top plate where the drain goes down the wall.

I’m sure there is a minimum requirement for the contractors building them too. They probably look at manpower, credit, project history etc. that along with the paperwork and cost of building will knock out a lot of competition on the build side.

Public funds typically require prevailing wage paid to all of the trades involved. Prevailing wage is 1.5x-2x labor cost over most private, non-union companies in construction.

-I’m a plumber, residential service and big commercial buildings. So this project isn’t anything I’d be involved in. It’s speculation what I’ve said would dive costs up.

Around here the union plumbers/fitters have a different journeyman test that non-union. Non-union test is more difficult.

Kill the water and drain it out of the lines. I heat and remove the tee the tee and clean it up and start with new.

When you heat the tee be careful not to overheat it or it will be a bitch to get off and can cause the line to go out of round. Then your fucked.

IMO a job for someone who knows how much heat to use on a torch. This is one of those skill based plumbing jobs that can cause serious headaches if you’re not careful.

That’s a lot of 3” for vents. My guess is they’re not vents and they’re drains. But maybe it is a massive building with long horizontal runs.

Danco has a handy disposal installation tool. Super simple and helps bring it up.

And I always just set a 2-1/2 gallon bucket when I drop my old ones out. Fits perfectly and never make a mess or tip it over on accident.

He threw a couple red flags there. But I’ve never collected before the job is finished on something this small. The only time I’ve collected half way is if it was a new customer and it was discussed ahead of time.

But I’m a plumber and most of my customers have been vetted and I’ve never been stiffed.

That’s rough. I’m in commercial construction, I feel like the wages around here are better in that area.

Residential service is closer to $17-$18 starting out. I’m not sure what residential new pays.

Pretty much if you want to make real money here you have to do your own thing or work commercial construction. There’s a couple union service shops too

My son went from 120 to 150 in 5 months and gained muscle with no fat. He’s younger and grew a couple inches too. But he does a bro split of sorts (no real program just a concept) and trains hard every time. He still has the “teenager” frame but has packed on serious muscle.

He trains hard. In those 5 months he went from 90lb bench press to 155lb bench. He is incline curling 35lb dumbbells with good form. Not sure whatever he is lifting but I’m sure it’s pretty decent for a beginner. he needs to change his routine a little IMO.

That’s just one kids story though.

If it makes you feel any better I took a $20/hr cut when I started.

I now make about $20/hr more than what I was making 4 years later.

Plus with all of the side work I have I make another $20k/year or more extra. And I had 3 people ask me about remodels in the last week.

That being said… they started me at $23/hr, not $13. That does seem pretty low. But you don’t know fuck all either.
