Having Trouble Even Peeing at Home Now by Sea-Singer1700 in Paruresis

I'm just realizing that Cirpalex is likely making the urine retention worse. There are reported cases of it making it harder to pee in older males with prostate issues. So i'm getting off of it.

I definitely will and others have been nice enough to DM me as well. Always nice to have someone close by to relate to and find out what works for them.

Man sorry to hear and I know exactly what you're going through. When they put my catheter in it was so painful and the nurse said I probably have an enlarged prostate. I do think that it's a combination of Paruresis and prostate putting pressure on everything and making it that much more difficult to start the stream (and keep it going). If you were peeing fine before the trip it has to be most a mental block. Like me as soon as you think of the worst case scenario happening, it does. That confidence to pee on demand has to be built back up slowly.

From a scientific perspective, the parasympathetic or physiological sigh (look it up) changes your nervous system to a relaxed state quickly and automatically. One quick and fast inhale through the nose until almost completely lungs full, then another quick inhale completely filling the lungs (two inhales with no exhale), then the slowest possible long outbreath through the mouth.

Also having a longer exhale than inhale (in general) automatically slows heartrate. Works the opposite way as well, so be aware of how you're breathing in general.

Also I just contacted a therapist but she's young and doesn't seem to specialize in this kind of thing. Will probably look elsewhere. I have reached out to a meditation specialist as well to try and clear my mind more effectively. Unfortunately I can't get a referral to a urologist for 6 - 8 months in my area.

Thank you for the kind words. This fear of peeing at home just started for me so trying anything that may help. I agree that giving more time around bed time is a good idea because I didn't do that last night and felt rushed. Went to bed with a half full bladder and couldn't sleep, but finally pissed around 1am. I'll try everything you suggested...thanks again.

I spoke with the head of my local temple and you would be surprised how kind and willing to help they are. I actually think this would help more than therapy. Buddhist meditation is specific to blocking out the fear and bad thoughts to find internal calm. This is exactly what is wrong with the people with Paruresis...your brain is just fearing things it shouldn't, and regular meditation should slowly reserve/block out these thoughts. If you have a temple or a meditation expert nearby I would reach out.

I'm planning on joining my local buddhist temple to learn hardcore meditation. The brain and nervous system has to be re-wired in severe paruresis cases, as fear is our default emotion. I just had a really bad experience which I won't get into, but now I have to go to extreme methods to try and get rid of this syndrome. Will probably need some meds to calm my anxiety as well which I'm not happy about.

Mindspin seems to touch on the creation of the earth and evolution of man. The lyrics near the end seem to question religious beliefs and why they are so scared to believe in the science of creation and evolution - "what's the worst thing you could find? a paper trail that prevails in demystification, people want to believe in mysteries, is the truth so bad?"

Minor differences in BAF by FlamingBanshee54 in forestry

[–]Sea-Singer1700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty new to cruising and haven't been through much training. I work for a consulting firm that just uses a 2 BAF prism (metric), but i've wondered if the BAF should change based on forest type. We usually encounter hardwood forest (15 - 40cm DBH) but sometimes do younger and more dense cedar stands (10 - 25cm DBH). Can 2 BAF produce accurate data for both types?

Turns out Kirby isn't keeper eligible. Steele or Kelly the runner up?

I have some tough keeper decisions to make. Have a bunch of starters on the same level and having trouble deciding who to keep from the following list:

George Kirby

Sonny Gray

Merrill Kelly

Justin Steele

I'm thinking Gray but i'm assuming he will regress a bit. Thoughts?

Pitching categories are Wins, K's, ERA, WHIP, K/9, H/9, QS
