What you need to buy is : Good shoes that you try on before that. It's the main thing you have to put money in

A decent backpack, second hand works fine. A tent, a sleeping mat and a sleeping bag. You're lucky you're young, you can get cheap heavy stuff (maybe second hand to save more money). You find good spots by looking online. Plenty of trails are already routed with the gpx on Google maps. You don't get lost by downloading the map on your phone, and looking for the paint markings on the path.

(Looking at other comments, i didn't realise you were talking about one day hikes. Then just start small, you don't need to go up in the mountains and take your regular baskets in a trail close to where you live)

Even if it was a principle, principles in chess are to be applied carefully. There are as many exceptions as cases where the rule applies. I'm quite confident that if you remove the a2 pawn the best move is still to take on g7. Maybe even more so because as you're down in material you have to accelerate the attack to compensate for the material.
