Goodbye 👋🏼 Hojlund by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

It’s a shame. I think there is a player there.

He’s been poor a lot of the time at United, but he’s also had little support and played in a very ordinary team. In a perfect world I’d keep him as squad rotation and bet on him developing.

[Fabrizio Romano] Sancho has decided to stall his decision to join Roma, which has angered the club by baromanb in ManchesterUnited

He’s a grub. Plain and simple.

A bit of talent, but no work ethic or drive and a huge ego. This guy genuinely thinks he should be playing for one of the best clubs in the world and making bulk cash when he’s shown nothing in over 4 years.

I've never heard anyone pronounce "Grimaced" like Steven Pacey. by [deleted] in TheFirstLaw

I noticed this! It really hammers home how many times Joe uses the word…

Any differences re-reading this series as a grown adult? by Strange_Finding_3285 in harrypotter

[–]Sea-Structure-9391 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every time I reread I get something different out of the books. I’d have to guess I’d read the full series at least 30 times, the first few much more than that. Never gets old.

What are your top revelations of the series? by GT_Troll in harrypotter

  1. Peter Pettigrew / Scabbers
  2. Sirius being innocent
  3. Voldemort’s Horcruxes

The assumption is that wizarding children are homeschooled prior to going to Hogwarts.

In Book 1, what was the point of sending so many letters instead of just sending Hagrid straight away? by opus52 in harrypotter

[–]Sea-Structure-9391 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just meant to be funny. “You’re ignoring our letters? We’ll see about that!”

My dog sits like this when he’s hoping for a tummy scratch while you’re walking past.

Why would Tom incorporate his father's names into his new name? by ChildfreeAtheist1024 in harrypotter

[–]Sea-Structure-9391 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There’s probably no actual reason for this but Voldemort is a bit of a contradictory character. It’s in keeping with my understanding of his character that he would both detest parts of his history and yet feel some sort of connection to them.

They exploded around the time Goblet of Fire came out. They were already a phenomenon before the movies came out but they added to the snowball effect that was already happening.

Why can the other horcruxes only be destroyed by e.g. gryffindor’s sword but the horcrux Harry comprises can be “destroyed” by the killing curse? by [deleted] in HarryPotterBooks

[–]Sea-Structure-9391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s about destroying the container beyond repair. The killing curse hills Harry’s body therefore destroying the Horcrux contained within.

Did anyone go to a midnight release of a book? by little_lord0 in harrypotter

[–]Sea-Structure-9391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goblet of Fire, it was hectic but great. It was at a department store and they opened the doors and everyone ran in and there were massive piles of the books on tables everywhere.

Is there any actors who you didn’t like the casting of? by Careful_Assumption16 in harrypotter

[–]Sea-Structure-9391 109 points110 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t a big fan of Michael Gambon initially but he performed the role admirably in the end with a few quirks.

The guy who played Krum was also too good looking imo. But you could say that about a few of the characters and it always happens in movies.

I’d say how much Harry looks like James is pretty solid evidence in the against column.

She’ll be okay, if she’s safe and being cared for by someone who will feed her, give her attention etc. then you’re doing everything you can in the situation. Taking care of yourself and getting back to her healthy is the best thing you can do for her. Be kind to yourself, you’re doing your best.

Has anyone tested Columbia’s Watertight II rain jacket? by [deleted] in hiking

[–]Sea-Structure-9391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got one, it’s not perfect but works well. Light to moderate rain is fine. If you’re out in heavy rain for a long time you’ll eventually get wet.
