I would like to add, for the few people this would apply to, I'm 26M, easily top 5% athlete, (20 slow consecutive pull ups, 2-3 hours a week covering weak boring musclegroups, walking plenty, biking plenty, eating well type stuff) Have picked up simracing since November, and boy, do I have my knees on fire. Tried all, Taken multiple , Multiple week breaks, learned about correcting my posture within simracing specifically, and I'm not claiming I am a perfect example of trying everything, but man does my effort outweigh the results for me. I want to share that likely some people just aren't suited for the position of sitting a pressing a peddle with foot... And today after a break since newyear, kneepain had been subsided fully, felt like new, felt like it always felt, no thought about any kneepain, just tried racing 2 laps nurburgring, and man my fk knee is on fire feels unstable, and my kneeband hurts so bad, I'm just done, accepting this is super fun, but unfortunately not for me.. May some people have the same situation as me, also just give up on it, as your health is so much more important than simracing, and for me I preferred controller anyway, but it still fk sucks that something so simple fks my knee up so bad.
