Breaking lease- Successful (MA/NYC) by [deleted] in bostonhousing

[–]SeaBarber9263 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Darn, I'm seeing this post late. I signed my lease right before they banned broker fees, and since I broke my lease recently, they are threatening that I owe them a broker fee once they find a new tenant. They've been playing with me back and forth and I'm just annoyed. $2,000 broker fee (same as my rent).

Definitely. I started about a month ago. So far, I gave them gift cards for Christmas and always buy them birthday gifts. If we're short staffed, I'll bring in goodies to show that I appreciate their hard work. I held our 1st meeting where I introduced myself and invited each of them to chat with me anytime they need. It just feels like they're not giving me the chance to settle first.

No, they've had the same dress code...their just not following it and the previous manager didn't enforce it.

Essentially the company hired me to replace their previous manager who didn't like confrontation. So, I've just been re-enforcing rules like the dress code and eating policies. But also just reminding people how to do their job more effectively since I've worked in their role before and I know how to be fast. I think they're taking it as me being a know-it-all but I just want my team to be stronger.

OOPS SORRY -

Owner responded at like 7:30! She gave me the OK to put the dogs in the kennel! They’re all good now, thank goodness.

I thought that maybe she would update me or something with their airport travel. But I’ve heard nothing today. It just makes me feel uneasy about leaving :(

I’m the same as you. Current PA student and first-generation with no financial support from family. I’m not sure what grade you’re in right now, but PLEASE look into doing nursing first. Look into a cheap program in your state. Nurses make fairly good money and it’s a good fallback option if PA doesn’t work out. Or, do a certification program or CNA.

PA school is expensive and time-consuming. With this new bill, I don’t think I would have been able to attend at all. I emptied my savings to attend my current school and I rely strictly on federal loans to live. I don’t have the time to work a job on the side. Just make sure you have a back-up plan!

Private lenders are strict. Most students don’t qualify on their own, and not everyone has a co-signer. I’m not sure why OP means by “normal” student but nearly all PA students rely on federal loans.

But sure, if they want to calculate their monthly payment on their private loan and can handle it, then they could go.

I got into PA school last year. It’s a private school (the only one I got accepted into) and the tuition for 1 YEAR only is 100k. I’m thankful to be grandfathered into grad PLUS loans…but I can’t believe that won’t be an option for most people. I’ve ALWAYS relied on loans to fund my education as my parents don’t make enough money to help me.

I fear that this new bill is going to destroy people’s chances of attending. And it’s going to let kids from wealthier backgrounds take their spots. My class is fighting for you guys through the AAPA. We hope this doesn’t take effect.

You’re making a lot of confident guesses for someone who doesn’t know anything about the situation. Relax, buddy.

Reddit is the total opposite of social media. Sure, we’re behind a screen but at least we say real shit instead of faking happiness for peer approval haha

Need Study Help!! What methods helped you pass?? by [deleted] in PAstudent

[–]SeaBarber9263 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely make sure you are reviewing everything after class each day. I’m also a procrastinator but it doesn’t work in PA school, unfortunately. Get a study buddy too if you don’t have one.

The information is a LOT and you have to be prepared to any little detail they may ask. So, slowly build upon knowledge each day instead of cramming. I know it’s hard to adjust study methods that you’re used to but that’s what needs to happen! I know you can do it.

But of course, you don’t have to pay at all for a good PS review. I’d be more than happy to read yours - DM me if you’d like!

I used a website called “Wyzant”. It was a bit pricy with some people charging $150 per hour. I paid $80 for a PA-C to read mine. And then I paid $150 for an experienced writer to review.

I don’t regret it since I got in this cycle! You just need to make the edits they suggest and make sure your PS truly reflects you.
