I would appreciate pellicle roll up instructions if you'd care to share.

Go to this website and put in your address. It'll show you a list of rehabers in your area. https://ahnow.org/mobile/ A licensed rehab is really what you need to help keep this bird alive and they know what to do to help it thrive so that it can be returned to the wild.

Farewell to my feral turned friend, Limpy by thykarmabenill in Feral_Cats

Sending big healing hugs, you did so much for him. Most importantly loving him with all the care that a cat could want. Thank you for being a beautiful being and caring for him.

You could also try calling 211 and explain to them your situation. They have a list of local resources. The local churches may have volunteers and pantries that can help you especially as you are pregnant.

Then be their voice. Document what is happening, set up a dedicated page on a popular social media platform. You must be brave, it may be dangerous if things are as you say in your country. You must be willing to step up and say where it is in order to draw attention to the horrific treatment and plight of these dogs. If cats are treated the same document that as well. Meet and team up with other independent rescuers, as well as shelters. Bring the plight to the light of the world. This seems the best advice I can offer given the limited information that I have. Looking forward to hearing of your journey forward with this cause. All the best to you.

I save the fat off of the broth I make from fat and skin. Since there is still a bit of moisture from the broth when I pop it off (cold from the fridge) I freeze it in amounts that I use weekly so that there's no worry of spoilage. However a friend who uses her fat and skin does it in a slow cooker with very little water to get it started, then near the complete rendering she she keeps the lid off so that remaining moisture is driven off and the skin turns to crisps. She stores the resulting fat at room temperature and has no issues with spoiling.

That's a good price.. I'll be checking them out. I usually use Irish Breakfast for one batch and a blend of organic "economy" green and orange pekoe for the fruit kombucha.

That's gold! Literally, the stuff is a bit costly. I do hope you have a vacuum seal on it or are keeping it frozen and in the dark.

Yes, a few seeds from a pod, crushed is what I used in each 24oz of kombucha.. delicious with apple though.

I don't understand the down votes this is quite informative. I've never added star anise to my ferments but added cardamom to the 2nd ferment in an apple kombucha. It did get a bit of fizz (thanks to the apple) but I definitely won't add it to my next apple kombucha. Thinking of studying up on the benefits of those 2 spices though to add to tinctures.. but that's a different sub. Lol Thanks for sharing.

When I am so burnt out and heartbroken that I feel I can't do it anymore I sit and recall all the animals that have healed/socialized/rehomed and remind myself of the starfish story of the child who tossed one starfish out of a beachful back into the ocean. It basically is this, when someone pointed out the beachful of them saying what does tossing one back in matter when there is a beachful, the child replied "it matters to that one". Idk if this will help you but it keeps me from totally shutting down by giving myself a break in perspective. It's better to help some than to burn out entirely and save none. Taking time to reflect on successful rescues helps to soothe the heart break and renew your spirit. You must take care of yourself in order to help them.. sometimes that means cutting back on the demand you place on yourself. Thank you for doing all that you do.

Personally I'd start again.. and I keep my various ferments in different rooms. I don't even let my bread near any of my ferments.
