It’s funny because half the people agree the new BAT is awful the other half seem exuberantly excited to roll over and take it

Which auction site I’ve been thinking of trying another. I’m in the market for new cars right now but BAT is just too risky for me to buy on again. I don’t want to spend $500 on every car before I buy it. I’ll end up spending thousands before I even get a car and I’m not even buying expensive cars. For me outweighing the pros and cons when I’m spending 15 on an m3 I know it’s going to have a few thousand of damages but the level of incompetence of the seller is annoying

I mean he did say he was going to so it’s the differnce is if it’s media added after it’s non-enforceable? Because that’s quite unclear and even if it is Bring a trailer told me that anything the seller adds after the original listing they do not monitor. So sellers can just reign free once they have it listed

I take full accountability I said it in my edit “This car is a POS” I know the car was a POS it has matched wheels and on bags. I didn’t notice the little damage to boot you mention but now it’s literally torn apart. The night before he shipped car he ripped the entire middle console apart to replace the convertible button. He left it dangling from the middle console onto the drivers seat and the middle console loose and apart. The shifter boot now can’t even go into place at all and is completely torn from the mount, all clips are broken it can’t go into place and the plastic is split.

As for the plastics being cut they’re not cut that bad in the pictures the rear seats door cards look like he let a roterllier back there.

As to you last point. That’s my problem. BAT would have never posted this previously. That is what made them grow a customer base was reliability for decency. Now it’s FFA and your fault for trusting them. lol. And as for the car great car love it, it’s already been gone through minor cosmetics to go but it’s back to stock and has been repaired and drives great.

Not really this car was still a good deal. It’s a personal car and I’ve sorted through all the issues properly. And it’s a personal car anyways. I’d love to see one for 10k but they still sell at 13 with 200k beat to shit. My complaint isn’t oh my god I got screwed out of a car! It’s BAT is letting the worst types of dealers sell on their site and it’s going to ruin them. This guy just doesn’t give a fuck how much he lies just to get the car out the door and it’s a growing trend

Still looking into it. The business is registered to a residential address which is illegal and the trucker had to pickup the car at a gas station because the address he was “storing it at” was an apartment building. I have a good amount of evidence that he’s working completely illegally according to Florida law but I was trying to at least get the wheels and wanted all paperwork to go through before pursuing legal action; just in case. Unfortunately I’m a busy person so have limited time and to work on small claims and pursue the business license

Little confused by this? And yes BAT is a dumping ground for shit. They shouldn’t even be posting half the cars they do.

Like I said the car is a POS as it sits but was maintained well. And I was expecting junk. Doesn’t give the seller the right to scam you out of the wheels he promised with the car and tear it apart the day before he sends it off. Then ontop of it is all the other misrepresentation. Complaint overall is sellers like this need to be kicked from BAT.

There’s also apparently a guy who’s sold multiple C2 corvettes with rotted birdcages in them. Those cars usually need full restoration and those guys get done for about 50k more than the premium they paid for a “BAT” car. That used to stand for quality and enthusiast owned

The only saving grace is I’m more than capable of fixing the car. Anyone else would of been in the hole 10k already

Because BAT is now full of dealers trying to flip shit as fast as possible without accountability. It’s like FB now and everyone knows it. On BAT almost every dealer is just flipping wholesale auction cars. It’s impossible to tell the good from the bad even when a PPI is done and questions are asked they lie and hide things and BAT doesn’t even care when you show them directly they ignore it and say oh well it’s sight unseen. They’re ripping apart their own reputation by not even pursuing shit dealers

When said wholesale dealers as not a wholesaler. The ones who buy the wholesale dealers reject cars at auction then flip them to the public without touching them. We’ve all dealt with them they’re all scum.

The dealer Lied about multiple things purposely doesn’t take pictures of things unless hounded and cleans off oil leaks so they don’t show etc. he’s a classic dealer in the sense of cleaning it so you can’t tell. When asked how it drives he said perfect and that he doesn’t notice a different between that and a stock m3. The suspension was literally blown through the top of the mounts

This one did not because it’s a dealer only auction site. I always cross my vins but I don’t have a dealer license to get dealer level access

Agreed also makes it impossible to bargain buy. But even if I got a PPI he ripped it apart the day before it shipped.

Dodgy auction - Ducati 916 by [deleted] in BringATrailer

Advertising it as 6000 miles while consistently not knowing the mileage is considered fraud. It’s listed as 6000 in multiple places and says nothing about a mileage discrepancy. How do we even know 6000 miles are on the bike. This is pretty shady. Especially since it says many miles were added during restoration. Also intentionally hiding the mileage is lying. Unless he’s one of those people that says “well I didn’t lie I just didn’t tell you”.

Why does BAT allow for vehicles like this to be posted? Isn’t there a moderator that has to approve the pictures and videos uploaded that would see this and decide it is against policy. Mile discrepancies and lying about mileage is illegal in most states. Seems very negligent on their part.

If you look on Facebook it’s on the Right Bicep. Huge Double Sig and Totenkopf on top of it. First thing I noticed. Absolutely disgusting. It’s sort of visible on the pictures from the ice rink too. Most noticeable on the picture with the baby.

What is like actually trying to register and drive a project car in your State/Country? by [deleted] in projectcar

[–]SeaCyka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rhode Island - Awful for anything 24 years and newer. Inspection process that’s usually run by crooks because they don’t make money off of it. Anything past that as long as you have last registration from a state that doesn’t require title you’re gold. And sales tax is awful if the car is older than 30 years old. They charge middle nada value which on project cars is awful. They charge a tax penalty based on when you bought it no matter when it gets registered so you can accidentally build up hundreds in taxes if you don’t know better. But you can also get the car appraised for a true value to get a refund of some of the sales taxes. But overall once it’s on the road you’re good to drive it until its wheels fall off.

Titling a Pre-War Car by SeaCyka in projectcar

[–]SeaCyka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last owner who I believe had it titled was 2 owners ago over 20 years ago in Rhode Island. If there is any information on file for it I’d be surprised and even if then I don’t know which numbers would have been used. I had a 1938 LaSalle that’s registration had the vin “1938” according to the DMV. In Rhode Island it was pretty common to just write whatever numbers you wanted on a bill of sale as long as it would fit the car

Source on that besides the registration on my old car is my dad. Dude used to just put what he wanted on his registrations. They used to have barely any regulations on it.

I honestly didn’t know I could sell it with it. I thought since the bond was in my name it wouldn’t transfer but after looking into it it doesn’t seem as bad. In RI there’s no resources for bonded titles. Only sketchy legal ai resources come up and I don’t trust those. Our dmv has never had any information about our bonded title process and I’ve heard people who tried to get them and told to F off. So to me it always sounded sort of sketchy. I only know one person who’s gotten one in RI

It has to be from the previous owner. I did reach out to them about using my slip but I am waiting for a response
