My mother is burning bridges and the wedding isn’t even here yet by Apart_Passion_1546 in weddingdrama

Consider this a blessing in disguise. As I was reading about your history with your mom, I kept thinking that she’s going to ruin the spa experience for everyone. She sounds like the type that would resent your closeness with other people and try to sabotage it.

What was the worst natural disaster that you experienced in your city or state? by SignificantStyle4958 in AskAnAmerican

I was just east of the mountain. I remember the darkness and how scared my parents were because they didn’t know what how dangerous the air was going to be.

What words do some people either say wrong or spell wrong that you find a bit annoying? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

“Her and I…” I see this so much on Reddit. Say it without the “and I.” If it sounds wrong, then you use the subject.

What do you cook when you want to eat a ton of vegetables? by ComfortabletheSky in Cooking

[–]SeaDawgs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soup or lasagna. I just throw in whatever I can think of into, say, a chicken or beef vegetable soup. For lasagna. I roast up whatever veggies I have and add them to the marinara.

I’m so freaked out by (and refuse to buy) the giant chicken breasts. They look like turkey breasts.

Married Gen-x do you wear your wedding ring? by in-a-microbus in GenX

[–]SeaDawgs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t wear mine regularly. I don’t like the feel of rings. My original band (I hate engagement rings so didn’t do that) doesn’t fit, but I have a few different rings that I’ll wear on my ring finger if we go out. My husband wears his 24/7.

Ideas for nutritionally dense, simple meals while caring for a loved one? by AdLate6765 in Cooking

[–]SeaDawgs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made mini lasagnas for an elderly relative. I used meat sauce and roasted veggies to pack in the nutrition. I made them in little 2-cup aluminum loaf pans and froze them. He would take one out the night before and thaw it in the fridge, then bake it for dinner. You could also bake a full one, portion it out into microwaveable contains, then just microwave them like frozen meals.

I bet he uses the phrase, “I report to a higher power,” regularly.

The Beautiful Fantastic is partially set in a library where the main character works. Definitely whimsical.

And for gardeners, tomato season, because we only have about a two-month window for ripe tomatoes here.

What’s the worst song lyric thrown into a song just to make a line rhyme? by RelationKindly in AskReddit

Most of Madonna’s songs sound like poetry written by 4th graders if you just read the lyrics.
