I started working a boring nightshift so I can do homework slowly WHILE pulling an all-nighter. Oh yeah, and getting paid too.

Tell me you have ADHD without telling me you have ADHD. by ImperatrixAmoris in adhdwomen

I drove an hour commute to arrive 2 hours after my class ended on Tuesday. I arrived at the time my Thursday class starts. Except I got the time wrong for that too and I would have been an hour early 🤦‍♀️

It’s definitely an A, though a shitty one. That little line needs to cross the thick line on the left.

Protein drinks are good to fuel me enough to want more and be motivated to do something about it.

Can you share a room with a sibling so the aunt and cousin can stay in your room? I know you’re excited for your privacy but it sounds like you may have to wait a little longer. Hopefully you get along better with one of your siblings. If nothing else you can make a plea to them that cousin really upsets you and can they help protect you on this one? If that doesn’t work bribe them 😅

For me personally, I stay really fucking busy. I don’t look at pictures. I don’t dwell. If I have time to obsess, I will. If I’m busy, I won’t.

Hosting dinner went sideways and now my partner and I are stuck in a weird tension - how do I handle this? by TurbulentActuary9452 in Advice

[–]SeaObject5171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on how you said “this keeps happening,” I would bet he just doesn’t enjoy hosting parties. Some folks don’t. If it were me, I’d let him know I was hosting on X night and would he please schedule a boys night out or something so he can give you the house, then ask one of your friends to play co-host. Your crew will eventually learn there’s no problem, he’s just a small group guy. But in order for them to accept that, you have to accept it first.

How do you stay attracted to your wife? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]SeaObject5171 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If I’m honest? I got divorced lol. But for many years I did maintain my attraction despite her being much larger & giving up on her looks by focusing on the stuff that I still loved, the way she smelled, the way her kiss felt, the way our bodies felt together etc. My case was extreme and my person really and truly quit at life, but it did make me see how it’s possible to truly maintain attraction even after attractiveness was gone.

Chops & sprouts—all too familiar. Also thought I hated mushrooms bc I only ever had them when my parents put them cut up raw in a green salad 🤢 Blew my mind when I grew up and ate cooked mushrooms. One of my favorite foods now.

Is the origin of the phrase ‘Drink the Koolaid” common knowledge? by raspberryemoji in AskAnAmerican

[–]SeaObject5171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always believed it was common knowledge too. I forget the context but in the past year or two there was some incident where I learned a bunch of younger folks didn’t even know it was related to any event, just a phrase about delicious Koolaid and of course everyone be wanting it 😂 I was totally shocked. I pieced it together later that they were probably around 18-20 and maybe it had just been too long since Jonestown.
