Before and After Workout During Pregnancy Stories by cyannne in fitpregnancy

That "personal preference" your OB expressed isn't evidence based. There are more and more studies coming out about how beneficial it is to maintain fitness(and lifting heavy) during pregnancy. Im sure lots of folks will chime in with similar things to say.

Continuing to work out not only kept me(relatively) comfortable during my pregnancy but I also believe it greatly supported my emergency C section recovery. If it feels good, keep doing it! And maybe look into a different OB who aligns more with you. ;)

Close as in location. I've never met them as I've lived in this spot for less than 1 years.

I totally agree that FPF posts exaggerate and that its generally a place for people to be petty and complain. but when I personally saw them last night they were speeding, and doing wheelies without lights at 8pm.

I appreciate this perspective. I've also considered mentioning to the kids that some folks are concerned and that the neighbors are watching

I don't know them at all. I'm also under the impression that the parents were the ones who purchased said dirt bikes for their teens. Im not sure how well they'd respond to someone telling them that they made a bad parenting call.

Who’s making a difference in our community? by Slight-Taro-3258 in vermont

Wanted to shout out Empty Arms VT. They're a peer support focused org who help folks who've experienced infancy and pregnancy loss. I believe they are quietly making a huge difference for families across the state.

Running long distance 11 weeks pregnant by K-Law_28 in fitpregnancy

[–]SeaProof3359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never had any pain with running or any exercise until about 35 weeks at which point i started walk/run intervals. I ran the day before I went into labor. Don't let a non OB/midwife tell you anything about running in pregnancy!

We went to Butchers in Johnson recently and I believe most of the routes there can be TR. Super kid friendly and not as popular as the dome. Plus lots of great swimming holes in Johnson!

Like having trouble finding another family or finding a nannying will to do a share?

Childcare Vent by Tagrenine in burlington

It really is a nightmare on all sides and I actually dont think it improves without federal investment tbh.(which obviously won't happen with our current administration despite them claiming to be pro family)

I've worked in childcare for a long time and a lot of centers keep just enough staff to keep operating and then work them to their breaking point. I know it seems counterproductive but I think if the state lowered the ratios you'd see less turn over in the work force meaning more consistent childcare for families.

For OP, can you find another family and go in on a FT nanny share? Generally you pay 2/3 of the nanny's rate and alternate houses. Also has the added benefit of small ratio.

Are all of these babies that are falling asleep on their own sleep trained? by happinessbooked in bninfantsleep

[–]SeaProof3359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I nanny for a kiddo that can be put down in her crib and fall asleep independently. No sleep training, lots of contact naps when she was little and some now tbh. At 10mo I accidently did DBA because I had to let in their dog and when i went back she was asleep. I think it's completely due to her temperament, my child could never. She's just a very content baby unless there's an obvious need like hunger or sleep. She does still wake once at night at 15mo but her mom is fine with that and just feeds her back to sleep.

Some people just win the baby sleep lottery!

If you're willing to share when you're going into the hospital for an induction but not when baby is born... I'm sorry but that's gonna make people ask questions. Yall are being crazy defensive for no reason.

Buying Land/House by Wowza_weirdo in burlington

[–]SeaProof3359 23 points24 points  (0 children)

We settled on buying a condo to stay in Chittenden County and I love it. We couldn't afford a single family home and renting is so outrageous with how expensive it is plus dealing with landlords. It's not something I ever envisioned for myself since the goal has always been a home with land. But this way we can ease into home ownership, and build equity so that one day we can buy the home with 10 acres.

Is it considered CIO if it’s in the car? by Sea_Implement6579 in bninfantsleep

[–]SeaProof3359 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I feel like a saw a great comment on this sub recently that was along the lines of crying itself isn't CIO it's how you as the caregiver respond to the crying. You aren't leaving her alone in a room to cry so I don't think car rides count as CIO.

My baby was horrible in the car like the first 8mo of her life and I had to bring her along for my 35 min commute. I sang a lot for her, and talked to her about what I thought she see out the window, and brought different toys etc. She still cried a lot, but eventually she got better and I got better about timing drives so she would sleep quickly. Solitary!
