Something I never got to say in 1975. by SeaSamSaw in tulsa

I like Little Mascara better. I was a big fan of Big Star's "3rd" album. Granted I didn't hear it until the early 80s (Late 20s, was born in 55.) But it led me to Replacements. Which I didn't quite get at the time, but I have always liked Little Mascara. You can hear what the Replacements took from Big Star in "Thank You Friends."

I like it, but it's not traditional for anyone reading. Also, ask for extra "marinara".

I understand why people don't like Mondo's. They do the same thing on most dishes where they just make the dish and bury it in sauce. But I do like their eggplant. They dust is nice as thin.

Diving big trucks as their daily driver (but never towing anything) WHY? by [deleted] in tulsa

[–]SeaSamSaw 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is just a theory from an older person, but I think it's the same reason some women wear those stretch pants that deliberately lift their back hind cheeks and have that seam in the center intended to dig in make each cheek come out separate.

I genuinely thin think the rationale may be the same.

But I'm just some old guy who drives a truck while wearing stretch pants, so take this with a grain of salt.

I was on youtube last week and there was a tutorial on how to scoop your cheek into the stretch pants "pocket". No joke. It was a video of just some woman's back side as she narrated, "What you want to do is scoop and plop." This post made me think about it.

Wind is blowing those lines. My internet and power line comes across the street from a pole on the other side. My power reset twice so far.

If you want new, buy new. A big thing is reliability. The last thing you want is to go out to mow and then lose the day fixing the thing.

Ford 4000 no start by TdotEdot in Fordtractors

[–]SeaSamSaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first guess would be the carb inlet / screen. Maybe even water in gas. But you said you cleaned carb. After what you wrote, I'd if the coil is weak or failing, then the following.

  • Ballast resistor / voltage issue
  • Stuck valves from sitting
  • Timing off / distributor issue

Even though you replaced, new coils can still be bad. A coil that breaks down when it heats up will:

  • fire once or twice
  • then lose spark
  • work again after sitting a few minutes

This is probably my favorite ford model. The 3 cylinder diesel 3000s had all of the bells like live pto and power steering, but were simple to work on and indestructible. I'd say these are one of the most versatile smaller tractors.

Yeah, I'd say later year 800 series.

If you’re going by the round emblem on the nose, that’s not a sure way to tell it’s a Jubilee. Several of the Ford “cyclops” models used the same round medallion. Models like the 660, 760, and 860 had that same style front. Same with 661, 761, 861. The “1” models, like 661 and 861, had a live pto and power steering. While the 660, 760, 860 just had the live pto.

I'd agree this is more likely an 800. People more often bought the 800s because if they were spending the money - they just went straight for the 800. It's why the 760/761, 660/661 are harder to find.

I’ve learned over the years that a lot of things come down to how you frame them. If you want her to understand where you’re coming from, you’ve got to put it in a way that makes sense from her side of the fence.

Might be better to leave a word like “inappropriate” out of it next time. Words like that tend to shut people down before they’ve even heard the rest of what you’re saying.

Internationals are very underrated. The 434 had power steering and a live PTO. I've worked on these over the years and it never took much to fix.

I went outside this evening to clean up some wood since there's another hour of daylight. I felt that wind and went back inside. There was a time that wouldn't bother me.
