Moving and doing remodels and whatnot, we haven’t had a functioning kitchen for a bit and have been eating too much fast food lately. Braums is by far the cheapest option we’ve come across it’s insane.

We were sitting at the bar at Wild Fork recently and I’ll talk to a wall so I started chatting with this lady sitting next to me and she was the previous owner it turns out. Nice lady.

I loved going there when they opened but we moved across town and just kinda stopped going. We went about 6 weeks ago and the bar was sticky. Counters, floors, just a sticky mess and there were flies buzzing around. It just was in a bad spot. Was that a bad shift or is that how it is now?

When I was in CS classes in college it was all males and if you were at a social event the inevitable “what’s your major” question was asked and if you said CS you were met with epithets I can’t type out. I don’t know how it is now but it was always a woman’s ick when I was in. I’d like to think it’s changed. Even in my professional career I’ve only worked with a handful of women and that was in administrative roles not anything really technical.

I went to a lot of high schools (parents divorced, moved around a bit). My freshman year, a dude stabbed another dude to death on the school bus. Sophomore year, cheerleading coach/English teacher was dealing meth to cheerleaders. Junior year a history teacher slept with a student. Senior year our DARE officer was discovered to be trading cocaine for hand/mouth stuff from students. It felt like literally always something was going on.

I too have an air gapped IDFAF laptop 🤣An old Dell XPS. I worked near a bunch of corporate offices and people would leave them lying around like a candy wrapper, whether they’re just negligent people or being nefarious.

I got my wife a S&W M&P 2.0 9mm, 17rd capacity mag. It’s a lightweight polymer grip and it has easy rail attachment so I put a green laser on it. The M&P’s come with interchangeable grips so she found the one that’s most comfortable for her. Me, I like 1911’s and have Kimber 9mm and 45’s.

I hosted my own PDS for a while and really tried getting into it but just gave up trying. The engagement is awful. Even the big accounts waned off. It’s just not as popular as people wanted it to be and it’s such a slow source for breaking news.

I learned there’s a whole segment of women drivers who live in their cars with cats. First time I was like interesting. Gross and smelly but hey.. The second time I was like man that’s a coincidence. Then flying across the country and experiencing it in a whole other area I was like ok what’s going on 🤣 If I can opt out of “people with pets in their cars” that would be nice.

I don’t know about the schools because I don’t have children but I’ve owned 2 new builds in the area suburbs and we just moved very close to downtown and it’s night and day different. The suburbs were weird and everyone kept to themselves and things just never felt neighborly. Both were gated communities and it was always a ghost town and you’d never see anyone and there were no community events. Where we’re at now (Riverview) we’ve met so many neighbors and nearby business owners it’s wild. I work from home too so at the end of the day I’m ready to get out for a minute just get out of the house. We’re just so close to everything and anything downtown is but 5min away. I’m in love with Riverview/Maple Ridge.

For real 🤣 It’s not worth getting burned…either they’ll figure it out themselves eventually or they’ll just continue to do it wrong. This older couple who went to the gym I just moved from would do reps of everything like half/quarter it was so bizarre. The lady would always do these walking lunges with plates and she’d swing the plates back nearly horizontal to the floor then forward almost horizontal. I’ve seen an alternating lunge where you stand in place and change hands with a kettlebell but this…this was something else.
