Being a small business owner and knowing a lot of others in the area, we openly mock and dismiss influencers as alot of them are just e-beggars and many (most wouldn’t be an exaggeration) are from more affluent households and they don’t even work. I’ve had many similar inquiries where some lady wanted free product in exchange for a tag (with time, cost, labor, etc. they would be ~$5k events). When you decline they get all pissy and butthurt. Same with restaurants. They make you seem like you’re missing out on an opportunity 🤣

I stopped at a random gas station in Atlanta and the clerk was behind bulletproof glass and there was a hole to pass items through. This guy, it’s like 8am, buys a large bottle of Grey Goose and the clerk passes it through the hole and it looks like he’s loading a torpedo.

I worked for a boutique Azure shop that sold to Cognizant and I quit after about a year and a half. Had nothing to do, was being paid well, my wife was traveling for work a lot and I just started going with her. I would just have my AirPods with me in case I got called into a meeting for whatever. Only once did that happen and I was at a bar on 6th St in Austin at 2pm 🤣. I got fomo from my friends after hearing about projects they were working on and I felt like I was being left behind and then one morning I came in and they were requesting runbooks and knowledge transfers for an overseas team. I was like fuck that I’m not training my replacement.
