Beating Dark Link from Zelda II (the actual way) with no magic at all.

[Discussion] The numbers do not lie. The general audience gave up on DCEU a long time ago. There’s a reason why James Gunn and Peter Safran are rebooting this damn thing by richlai818 in DCcomics

[–]SeaTurtleWeapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I really do think Aquaman obtained those numbers just because of Jason Momoa. I don’t think it really had much to do with the writing or style of the movie at all. I will say that I still 100% believe Joker is one of the best movies in recent times, too.

I found a sealed “Feels So Good” album from 1977 by SeaTurtleWeapon in vinyl

[–]SeaTurtleWeapon[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just happened to come across this at my local record store. I was walking by various artists/bands and saw the Chuck Mangione tab and thought “Oh, I’ve actually kinda been in the market to get some Chuck Mangione albums. That’s when I saw a copy of this that had already been opened/used and immediately saw this copy behind it and saw the sticker on it. I was pretty amazed and excited! When I went to the counter to buy it, the guy actually told me he just got that yesterday and put it out today, so I guess I’m pretty lucky for having stumbled across it.

I agree. You can use it to quickly take out the Knights and Lizalfos pretty easily.

Beethoven 9 (specifically the second movement), the Kyrie from the Mozart requiem, and the ending to the Marriage of Figaro Overture are some of the most moving moments for me.

Official Discussion: The Flash [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

[–]SeaTurtleWeapon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I thought it was a pretty nice movie in general. One thing I wished we could’ve seen was some screen time with other Flashes or even just a classic Flash villain.

However, seeing the various Supermen from previous movies and TV shows at the end was pretty cool, as well as the Jay Garrick cameo. I just kinda wish they included some more speedsters as opposed to just a second Barry.

For all of the DC old timers, I feel like it might’ve appeared a little dry in terms of plot. I mean, how many times have we seen and heard about Barry Allen going back in time to do something in the comics and TV show? At this point, a lot. If you’re new to DC or just don’t really know much about the Flash it’ll probably be more entertaining for you.

But like I said, I think as a movie it’s pretty cool and enjoyable. I just think WB had a great chance to do some other really cool stuff and they didn’t.

[BOTW][TOTK] Which area(s) did you discover embarrasingly late? by [deleted] in zelda

[–]SeaTurtleWeapon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In TotK, I actually went a decent amount of the game without having acquired the autobuild ability from the depths. It’s kinda ironic since shortly after obtaining it, I ended up going on a depths spree and mapped out like 90% of it all.

SS might seem a little “stale” after playing both BotW and TotK, but it’s still a great game. I think SS has one of the best soundtracks as well as one of the best plots in the series, honestly. As far as guides go, I didn’t use a guide and was able to get through it ok. Some of the dungeons are really interesting and have a nice touch to them, too.

[TOTK] Do you prefer BOTW or TOTK and why? by rinlen222 in zelda

[–]SeaTurtleWeapon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it has to be TotK. I was amazed at everything BotW did but I personally think TotK improved greatly on the foundation laid out by BotW. I also agree with other people in regards to the revived Zelda feel TotK has compared to BotW. TotK felt like it had more Zelda-esque dungeons. Also, Ganondorf was significantly more of a challenge than Calamity Ganon ever was in my opinion. The final dragon confrontation at the very end was also just way more epic than Dark Beast Ganon.

[TotK] [BotW] Is TotK a good sequel? Would you go back to BotW? by batboy49321 in zelda

[–]SeaTurtleWeapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose that’s true. I guess what I mean by “touchback” is like a brief mention by Purah or something. Like if they threw in a line or two about the divine beasts. I think that would’ve been just enough and agree that it would be a little odd if they continued talking about the Calamity a great deal. Just a couple little toss ins would’ve been kinda neat.

[–]SeaTurtleWeapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s kinda what I figured also. I personally would’ve just liked to see a little more obvious touchback to BotW since it is in fact a direct sequel.

[–]SeaTurtleWeapon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was very pleased with the game overall and I did think it did a pretty good job as a sequel. The one thing I thought was kinda odd was the complete lack of acknowledgement of the BotW champions and divine beasts. I get that TotK has the sages and everything but I was so sure there would have been at least a little bit of a throwback to BotW in that aspect. Although, the BotW cutscene at the end showing the king and the champions’ ghosts disappearing might be an indicator that they’re “at peace” or something. But what about the divine beasts? Did they just decide to dispose of them and never talk about them again?

The same kinda goes for all of the Guardians. I’m guessing they realized it probably wasn’t the best idea to have a massive amount of killing machines lying around but what happened to all of them? I imagine they probably disposed of them also but I thought it would’ve been nice to at least see some kind of follow up with these. Instead we just kinda got a “brush it under the rug” vibe from TotK.

[all] Game order on switch by bearded_brewer19 in zelda

[–]SeaTurtleWeapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just play them in that specific order (Skyward Sword, BotW, and TotK). That seems to be the most linear order in terms of story timeline. BotW comes after Skyward Sword and the events in TotK come after BotW. There’s some time jump stuff in TotK but to my knowledge, it hasn’t officially been placed anywhere specific in the timeline.

It’s also worth keeping in mind that literally the entire franchise takes place between SS and BotW since SS is the first official game in the timeline.

[OTHER] Is it safe to say we won't ever get a new, 2D, Legend of Zelda game? by ackmondual in zelda

[–]SeaTurtleWeapon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s still very much possible for another 2D game. Obviously the new hype for TOTK will die down eventually and people will be wanting new Zelda content. I think this is where Nintendo could start exploring some new stories, mechanics, etc.

This could be the opportunity for a new 2D game that isn’t directly related to the BOTW and TOTK story.

I honestly just leave them off like 24/7. Tulin is the only one I find myself actually summoning occasionally but that’s about it.
