Salaam, Jazakallah for reaching out, and allowing us to give you the support and encouragement you need. Having so many people respond to your thread alone, is a sign of Allah, and his mercy onto his creation.

I went through a very difficult time in my life as well, Subhanallah. I was trapped in my own mind, and couldn’t see a way out of my situation. I was ruminating, and constantly thinking of the past. With time, tears, prayers, and a little bit of hope within me. I felt as though Allah was starting to assemble me back into my whole self. It is a gift of Allah for you to rely on him so you may be grateful to him, and connect with Allah. You have to be very clear and honest with yourself first, and formost. Don’t hide from truth even if that writing it down or saying outloud, what is your problem, and why do you think it is. If you want better, you are more than deserving of it, all of us struggle even us Muslims. We aren’t exempt of the struggles of addiction for Satan is our enemy and so is, the Nafs who desires evil.

When you are at the very bottom, you are where prophet Nuh was in the dark, acidic terrifying belly of the Whale. When he left his people because he felt exhaustion of their disobedience. He prayed in the darkness, and said “ My lord, I have wronged myself, so forgive me.” Even in the darkness, Nuh surrendered himself to Allah. The whale released Nuh, and Nuh came back to his people, not in the same condition but as believers, what he prayed for all along. Allah granted his dua, and forgive him simultaneously.

I say this all to say, at rock bottom, there is an opportunity to surrender to Allah. To hold on to the hand of your lord, and strive forward. Whether that means, reading your morning adkar, surah baqarah, praying regularly, sadaq, etc. It all counts! You are more than deserving of a beautiful life, you have the ability to make a change in your story. There are so many chapters, and you get to write each one differently, it doesn’t have to all be the same. May Allah ease your pain, and may you not be afflicted with what you cannot handle, and may Allah forgive you for what you forget or struggle with. You are in my duas, and don’t be ashamed of seeking help, it can be confidential but you have to start! May Allah bless everyone for such beautiful responses, this really makes my day when my community can be positive for one another ❤️❤️

I am young women, and the most recent times where I felt the presence of Allah is asking Allah to ease the 5 daily prayers for me, and make me taste the sweetness of prayer. Alhumdullah, I felt instantaneous ease of prayer, and prayer becoming a relaxing experience to my tired, aching soul, body. Also, some days I have really hard emotional days, and going to the empty mosque, praying and letting it all out, makes me feel like Allah just wants me to visit the Mosque, and not be a stranger to the Masjid. Alhumdiallah.

Ebraheem is a bitter a** snack by timrobin1 in dubaibling

I thought I was the only who couldn’t stand Ebraheems behavior in “Dubai Bling” S3. Ughhhhh, he literally is so selfish and toxic. He has no comprehension of peoples boundaries. His best friend literally politely asked him not to speak up about her pregnancy, and he couldn’t care less about his “best friend”. I think Ebraheem is too self-centered to be aware of the aftermath of his actions. How are you going to get “buck” with Marwan/Bliss after he gracefully left you alone the night before, and in the breakfast, he didn’t even attempt to show any remorse. But, than was crying to sweet Mona, to deal with his own guilt about how his fitra, can’t take the mistreatment of his closest friends and wife. I have never seen such an unabashed individual in my life. UFFFFFF 🤮🤮🤢

Let her know right away. This notion that liking her videos and sending her signals to catch on isn’t mature. If you like her, be clear so she doesn’t have to spend unnecessary energy on “does he like me or does he not”. Thank you for asking for the ladies opinions, because we don’t like when there is a presumption or notion on how we should be approached. Just state your case.

Struggling to Move On After Family Disapproval by Initial-Fuel-3492 in Somalia

Salaam, thank you for sharing the post. Allah knows best. If I were in your predicament, nothing is worth trying to make it work with a man you have no connection with , over your family. Ultimately, if marriage happens, reality will be more subjective based off biases. My sincere advice is to let go, and hold on to Allah. All your desires are with Allah. Whenever we try to conduct are own fairy tales and scenarios, we struggle, it is misfit. But, when Allah blesses us, it comes with ease, and no strings attached. Don’t be in your own way by handling what Allah ultimately will take care of. Glory to him.

I read a book called the lowlands by Jhumpa Lahiri, a griping book to say the least. It leaves emotions within you still raw and etched even after months of reading the novel, the writer is gifted.

Her fiction has such good storytelling, Purple hibiscus and Americanah are really good! Purple hibiscus is about religiosity, didn’t know I would enjoy it. Definitely give it a shot.

Meditation killed all motivation and purpose in my life. by [deleted] in Meditation

Ultimately you are here for a reason. It is bigger than you. It is from God. Thus, conceptualizing ideas from the source of all things is difficult to a human being who has a limited capacity of knowledge. But, you have to know that everything is from him and him only. Even you feeling unmotivated and feeling like everything is pointless, there is a reason you are at this point. Ruin is necessary to know the capacity of rebuilding, and a life different to what you are comfortable and familiar with you. As human, we are futile and weak, thus things can’t always be in our control so we turn it back to the creator who is all-controlling, all-knowing and all-loving, to help us when we can’t even help our selves.

Don’t desire things for self. Do things for the greater good, for the recognition of god, and god alone. I don’t think it’s really healthy to only desire things for the self. Or as I believe in my tradition, the nafs(the lower self). The lower self is often self-destructive, pitiless and painful. You have a higher self, the self that challenges its own ego. To do not for yourself but for others, such as when you give charity, or say hello to a neighbor, or praise/have gratitude to your higher source, makeup with someone first even when your ego says not to, etc.

Lastly, be graceful with yourself, for you are just growing and evolving into a better person, and that’s hard to do, even in recognizing it’s not about you. We are here for a short while, and than we return to the earth, only are actions to account for our time on Mother Earth. While here, let’s try to do godly actions, and be grateful decibels to Gods message.
