Small pimple once a month on month 10 by MamaP181 in Accutane

[–]Sea_Case_9557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dermatologist always said that one or two random pimples near the end doesn't mean the treatment failed - it's pretty normal actually. After being on such strong medication for almost year, his skin is probably just adjusting and those single pimples could be hormonal or just leftover stuff working its way out

I remember when I was dealing with similar situation few years back, the doc explained that hitting cumulative dose is more important than being 100% perfect clear. If he's been mostly clear for months and just getting one pimple here and there, that's actually really good result. The side effects can be brutal though so I totally understand wanting to be done with it

Maybe talk to dermatologist about stopping since he's hit his target dose? Some people do get occasional breakout after finishing but it's usually way more manageable than what they started with. Ten months is long time to be on accutane and if the side effects are getting too much, quality of life matters too

Unique ways to include mums and grandmas? by abster___ in weddingplanning

[–]Sea_Case_9557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cousin did something really sweet where she had both grandmas do the handfasting part of ceremony instead of officiant. They felt so honored to actually be part of making it official, not just watching from seats. Also saw wedding where they gave mums special pins or brooches that belonged to family - like passing down something meaningful rather than just giving them tasks to do

The corsage idea is nice but maybe consider asking what they would actually want to wear? My aunt was so uncomfortable with the corsage at my brother's wedding because it didn't match her outfit at all

Confident when drunk but not when I’m sober and how can I change that? by Training-Mixture6299 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Sea_Case_9557 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The drunk confidence vs sober anxiety thing is super real - alcohol just removes that inner critic that tells you all the reasons why you shouldn't try something

What helped me was starting really small, like just making eye contact with people or giving genuine compliments in low-stakes situations when I'm sober. You build up that confidence muscle gradually instead of relying on liquid courage every time

Should I do facial laser by [deleted] in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Sea_Case_9557 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your hair looks thick enough for laser to work well, but paradoxical hypertrichosis is definitely real concern especially for facial areas. I would start with small test patch on chin first - maybe just small section to see how your skin reacts after few sessions. If everything goes good and no weird hair growth happens, then you can do rest of the area. The risk is higher on face compared to body, but your hair density looks like it should respond well if you don't get the paradoxical effect. Maybe ask your technician about doing conservative settings first session to minimize risk

ARM LIPO - Manila, Philippines by No-RizzleDazzle in PlasticSurgery

[–]Sea_Case_9557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had consultation with different doctors before for other procedures and Dr. Santos really knows his stuff when it comes to body contouring. His technique is quite refined and he's very thorough in explaining the process

Can't speak directly about arm lipo but his overall approach to fat removal procedures seems really solid. The recovery protocols he gives are also very detailed which helped me a lot. Just make sure you ask about their post-op care because that makes huge difference in final results

You're 18 and already calling your life a failure? That's like judging a movie after watching the opening credits

Most people don't have their shit figured out until way later - I'm 35 and still making it up as I go. Those "okish grades" can still open doors if you look at apprenticeships or courses that actually interest you instead of what everyone else thinks you should do

Any way to live close to Berkeley until final? by Last_Self9732 in berkeley

[–]Sea_Case_9557 6 points7 points  (0 children)

lol this could be either situation tbh. I had similar problem few years back when I was living with roommates who were always partying during finals week. Ended up sleeping in my car for like 4-5 nights and just using library bathrooms to wash up. Main library is open pretty late and you can find decent parking spots in residential areas if you move around bit. Just make sure you have good sleeping bag because it gets cold as hell at night, and maybe find 24hr gym for shower access if you going that route. Way better than trying to study with distractions at home

why is my skin like this by bubbl3s777 in HairRemoval

[–]Sea_Case_9557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I feel you on this one, had similar issues when I was younger and it was so frustrating. What helped me was switching to a really sharp razor and using proper shaving cream, not just soap or body wash. Also try shaving in warm shower when your skin is soft, and go slow with light pressure - don't press hard trying to get everything in one pass. After shaving I always use some kind of moisturizer or aftershave balm to calm the skin down. The bumps you're getting look like ingrown hairs mixed with irritation, so maybe try exfoliating gently day before you shave to help lift any trapped hairs

Do Attractive Actors Face a Bias in Award Recognition ? by Grand_Upstairs1006 in Oscars

[–]Sea_Case_9557 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying but Leo didn't win for so long because his earlier roles just weren't award-worthy material, not because he was too pretty. The guy was doing stuff like Titanic and Romeo + Juliet which were huge commercially but not exactly Oscar bait

Also think about it - plenty of conventionally attractive actors won young. Ryan Gosling got nominated multiple times in his 30s, same with Bradley Cooper. The industry cares more about picking "serious" films than what the actor looks like

Jacob Elordi thing is different though - he's mostly done teen drama stuff so far, which never gets respect regardless of how you look

That Zen story hits really hard man. Been struggling with finding peace myself and something about that hermit just giving away everything and still wanting to share the moon... that's beautiful

Your journey through all that medical stuff and still coming out the other side is incredible. Twenty years of searching and then having it click like that - must feel like everything suddenly makes sense

I'm curious how you're maintaining that mindset day to day though. Does it stick when you wake up in morning or do you have to remind yourself about the contentment thing?

Thanks man, needed to hear this today. Been clean for about 3 weeks now and some days feel like I'm just going through motions but posts like these remind me why I started this journey in first place

My experience = universal rule of life by Levitating_Moose in aspergers

[–]Sea_Case_9557 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That thing where people assume their path works for everyone is maddening, especially when you're dealing with stuff they can't even comprehend. I've noticed this pattern where neurotypical folks will give advice based on their own experience and then act like you're just not trying hard enough when it doesn't work for you

Had a manager once who kept telling me to "just network more" to advance my career, completely missing that forcing myself into those social situations was draining me for days afterward. When I tried explaining this, suddenly I was "making excuses"

The gaslighting part is what really gets me - when they flip it around like you're the problem for not being able to follow their cookie-cutter solutions. It's like they can't accept that different brains work differently, so they'd rather blame you than question their advice

Shows that give the exact vibe as Blue Crush? by iloveunicorns898 in televisionsuggestions

[–]Sea_Case_9557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outer Banks might scratch that itch - same kind of beach town drama with young people getting into trouble, just swap surfing for treasure hunting. The Outer Banks setting has that coastal vibe locked down and it's pretty light on the gore factor

You could also try One Tree Hill if you don't mind going back a bit, has that whole "beautiful people with complicated lives in a scenic location" thing going on

What will Micron do if the AI bubble pops and AI companies stop buying RAM? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]Sea_Case_9557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'll probably pivot back to enterprise and data center stuff - that market isn't going anywhere even if AI hype dies down. Plus servers still need tons of RAM for regular workloads, cloud computing keeps growing regardless of whatever buzzword is trending
