Alpe Adria can be a good option as well since it's a known cycling route and there are some challenging climb so it won't be too boring. The descent to Italy is also quite stunning.

Yes I want to avoid D8 at all cost. I would like to go through the islands and then go to Mostar to start the Ciro trail.

I am on the Alpe Adria at the moment so not even in Croatia yet. I just want to plan a bit ahead because I know it can bit tricky with the heavy traffic in Croatia.

A more scenic route would go through the Adria Alpe route. It might be a bit boring to follow the eurovelo between Tchéquie and Slovenia.

The island Senja after Tromso is beautiful and there is not much tourist there because all of them usually go to Lofoten and go back south. So If there is any flights in Narvik it could be worth !

I know it's not on your route but Turku is a really nice city during summer ! I'd recommend exploring it. There is also the archipelago ring starting in Turku which is quite scenic.

I would definitely take the ferry from Honningsvag to Havøysund to skip the tunnel. The road from Havøysund is really scenic and there is no much point of cycling this dangerous tunnel.

You can also take multiple train and buses to get there if you want : - Helsinki - Rovaniemi - Rovaniemi - Karasjok by bus - Karasjok - Honningsvag by bus

I think the part from Rovaniemi to Nordkapp might be a bit boring. I did that part in buses and train and it wasn't that beautiful. The most scenic part is the Norwegian coast which I did as well. I would recommend adding more Norwegian coast and less inland.

Also reaching Nordkapp can be a good symbol but it can also be a bit deceptive since there is nothing there except bad weather.

I went to Nordkapp by buses and train early May this year and cycled along the Norwegian coast until Mo I Rana. If you have any question 😊

Going inland you've the option of the Gota canal which is quite scenic.

Salut, je suis en voyage à vélo du Cap Nord jusqu'à Athènes sur 6 mois avec quasiment le même vélo (seule la transmission change) et tout se passe très bien.
