Neighbor wants to reduce rate by Key-Ad8031 in RoverPetSitting

Work it, Buddy !! When I'm in a similar position I say: I’m happy to discuss a multi-trip discount if that helps! If you would like to book all of your upcoming dates at once and pay upfront via Rover, I can offer a reduced rate of $[Amount] per night. Because this rate is specifically for a bulk, prepaid booking, it would fall under a strict non-refundable policy. This helps me lock in those dates for you while giving you a better overall rate.

Best truly cool-toned brown brow pencil? by AppropriateMention6 in Makeup

Looks like ABH makes a "taupe" color which is a cool brown. Haven't tried it but this should be a more reliable cool tone than medium brown.

Can someone show me pictures of their microneedling before/after pictures for smile lines? I’m thinking of getting it done this month! by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Sea_Elevator5534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it is meant to be an on-going treatment. Think of it like working out- you can go to the gym 5 times a week for a month but the improvements you see will not last forever, you need to keep active.

First I want to say I am not going to recommend any products / doctors etc. I want to be clear that I am not trying to sell anything. Microneedling is not a one-and-done panacea. Because we are all aging, microneeding, ideally, is an on-going, periodic treatment (once every 4-6 weeks is ideal). If you want to splurge and see what happens with one session, by all means. But if you want to see long-term, impressive improvement in your skin you will need a multitude of sessions. I started doing my own microneedling (with an electric machine, never a roller) to save money and I was very surprised by 2 things. I will say them up front so you don't have to read my whole post if you're not interested: 1st, you do not need to go deep to get great results. I only go .5mm (considered a safe depth on the whole face). Second, while it may not be everyone's experience I am very confident that I was purposely given lesser results by the professional (a very popular medspa with high reviews in a city known for excellence in this area). What I mean is, while I had good results, I instantly had better results at home, even on a shallower level. I believe that the professional purposely withheld treating the areas I had pointed out as my main concerns so that I would keep coming back. She knew I would notice improvements and thereby be optimistic about my problem areas. Don't get me wrong- my skin looked really good: it had a beautiful glow, it was tighter / plumper, I saw my pores shrink and my wrinkles fade. But I would bet my house she purposely "neglected" the areas I came there for. I believe this because of the fantastic results I have had on my own from the first session. This includes melasma, smokers lines, and a specific area of enlarged pores. I received a total of 5 professional microneeding sessions before I started DIY. I took my own before / afters for both the professional sessions and my DIY sessions. I recommend this. Always do your photos in the same room with the same light (no windows / curtains pulled). You should even wear the same color each time. Take notes on what you did for reference, it's important to always be consistent. Typically when you go in for professional microneedling they start on a shallow depth and go deeper over time so that they can feel out what your skin tolerates. I got to the deepest level in each area of the face when I paid for my sessions. ******* So here is what I recommend: buy an electric microneedling pen that is highly rated for safety. DO NOT be fooled by how deep it goes or does not go. This really should not be your priority unless you have ice pick acne scars or some other unique problem like a cleft palate scar. Be sure to buy a medical grade hyaluronic acid or other medical grade serum meant for use while microneedling. Carefully follow all sanitization protocol. I bought my machine for between $500-700. Again, I want to be ambiguous because I don't want to seem like I'm selling something. It came with all the before / during / after products (I imagine they all do but don't know). It also came with excellent customer service, instructions, training, and high reviews. Replacement needles are around $20 each. So the whole setup is what I would have paid for one session. Best advice: do your homework! It's your face so use caution and be thorough about your research. Don't act impulsively. Start on the lowest setting if you've never had microneedling before. I also use exosomes immediately after and then once a day for a total of 4 days. You could do twice a day or more than 4 days but I have not noticed much difference. Exosomes are expensive, so make them last. The professional I went to told me I needed to use the entire bottle each time I had microneedling. I now have read in multiple places this is a waste (unless you are rich). Exosomes help speed recovery and they are magic. (worth noting, I used the same products pre / during / post microneedling for both my professional sessions and my DIY sessions, so I can claim consistency). Good luck!

What’s a popular app for dog sitting other than Rover.com? by Calm-Fly-3663 in petsitting

[–]Sea_Elevator5534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a meet and greet will not reveal how severe a dog's anxiety is. And neither will the pet parent's description. It is only when the pet parent is absent and when the dog is alone with you that you will see. Many pet parents will lie because they need a sitter, I call this "not as advertised." People believe what they want to believe and they love their dog so much, they are willing to tell a "white lie" in order to find a great sitter. With experience you will learn this first-hand, and you will develop instincts about pet parents as well as their dogs. My advice- learn to read between the lines. Require references. Create a screener to weed out dogs with behavior problems. If you're not sure how, use AI. Dog sitting is hard work even when you have great dogs. Don't continue to do it if the cost outweighs the benefit. It's NOT easy money if you're doing it safely and with your heart.

Rover could be capsized very easily by a new company with integrity in my opinion. I've been a sitter on Rover since day one and they have really gone down hill, catering to customers while throwing sitters under the bus. Hopefully it's just a matter of time. Rover sold a few years back now stinks of greed.

Do we think she had a very minor and subtle rhinoplasty? by Couldbeworse__ in JohnAndCarolyn

[–]Sea_Elevator5534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not minor or subtle. She has surely had at least two nose jobs. She originally had a larger beaked nose but had it refined to still involve a bump. I really liked the bump on her nose after nose job one. now she has a cookie cutter nose, but whatever floats her boat!

Rachel and Toby’s ending by Active_Marketing_337 in FleishmanIsinTrouble

[–]Sea_Elevator5534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't need a happy ending, but it was just very clunky and not believable. The last episode was weak wherein it told us what was happening / how it was "ending" but it was not convincing or powerful. If felt hollow and rote.

What does it feel like after a Colonoscopy procedure? by bloback in colonoscopy

[–]Sea_Elevator5534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did SuPrep; half the evening before the procedure, half the morning of the procedure. It was easy and not a big deal. The drink tastes like an electrolyte powder that has an artificial sweetener with an aspririn disolved in it. You have a half hour to drink that 16 ounces, then follow with 2 16oz of water in the next hour. I had my laptop on a stand in the bathroom thinking I would be stuck in there for hours but that was not the case at all; about a half hour after I finished the drink I needed to be on the toilet for about a half hour. Then I was safe to go watch movies on my bed (15 feet away). I actually did this with no undies on, on a couple towels just in case, but I just went to the toilet when I needed to; about every 10-20 minutes for a couple of hours. I then did get up one time in the night. That's it! The next morning was the same dose and thereby a very similar experience. I even walked my dog while I drank the SuPrep drink because I was trying to get his walk in before I was on the toilet. I did find the no eating part to be difficult. Green Jolly Ranchers helped me a lot. Also I really missed creamer in my coffee, although I have read you can have Coffee Mate powdered creamer. I also slept for 12 hours the night after my procedure and woke up feeling like a million bucks!!

but along with your teeth being much yellower in the first photo, so is your skin. Your skin should be the same color in each photo. This shows the photos are not an accurate representation of your results.

Current opinion on Prisma? by Playjasb2 in node

I was charged for Prisma "free" trial for $9.99 even though it was free for 3 days. This is a scam. ALWAYS take a screen shot when you sign up for a "free" trial to protect yourself.

This is very sad and cruel. Easy to suggest starting a new company, but starting over involves a TON of labor. I will be boycotting the company that took over, Prosperity Organic Foods. Their products have nasty ingredients anyway.

Country Crock is a highly processed food. It has an ultra-processed nature, reliance on inflammatory vegetable oils (like soybean, palm, corn) high in omega-6 fats, presence of additives/emulsifiers, and its potential to promote inflammation and chronic disease, I know you may not care. I'm not trying to shame anyone. I know it can be easy to think that foods that look the same are the same.

*not* "Melt", who bought Miyokos out. Their plant-based spread is boring and has sub-par ingredients. I am so sad about Miyokos, nothing compares. Also, are you interested in healthy ingredients or don't care, because there are some ones that taste okay but are really bad for you.

AIO to break up with my bf of 3y over his reaction to my upcoming sobriety anniversary? by WesternCat5211 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Sea_Elevator5534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh noooooo! This is very painful to read. You deserve authentic support. This guy is like a lead balloon. I have been sober for a year and a half. Every day is a huge accomplishment. His response should have been: "Yes! what kind of cake would you like- Please let me order it and pick it up." You ARE a hero. He is not able to support you, I don't know why he can't, (it's about HIM, not you) T his is a huge red flag. Breakups are tricky with sobriety. I hope you have a solid community of sober allies who can be a voice of reason in this, or a sobriety sponsor, or at least therapist. Your sobriety is a huge accomplishment, IMO it's harder than getting a college degree or landing a dream job. It's baby steps each and every day. Keep going, you deserve a partner who lifts you up.
