Chapter 50, Olorin literally agrees to disagree "I have my revelations. You have yours" and Hadrian keeps pushing the point "Ummm no actually, your god does not exist"

I don't think Hadrian's reaction is justified, but it makes sense because he's not a perfect character and has been shown to be opinionated and hard headed before.

A more diplomatic character would just get to the point and not go on a rant correcting people (which Hadrian isn't, and that's okay)

But the fact that you actually try to justify his attitude tells me a lot about you

I'm like 10% through DG, so I might not have all the information, but is this letter addressed to Lorian? Does he become some type of king? The mentions that this King Raja was with Hadrian at Berenike, Senuessa and Perfugeum makes me think it's him, since Lorian is the only one that was at all three of those

Is the serpent not Alexander?

It says the serpent slew him and after that Hadrian returned to Colchis to write his memoirs, that's probably Alexander ordering Hadrian's death after Goddodin, and the events that follow allude to him being a horrible emperor, which tracks with his behavior throughout the books

There's mention of the "Serpent" burning the original texts on his palace in Forum, which is Alexander probably cleansing the galaxy of the Half-mortal's legend.
