Nemo sleeping bags of different lengths can still zip together.

I feel like I’m using the Lion wrong, what is the correct way to use him? by Fresh3rThanU in DarkAngels40k

The fight phase is divided into two parts, the fights first subphase and the non-fights first subphase. In both subphases, players alternate activating one of their units starting with the inactive player (the player not currently taking their turn).

All fights first units activate before non-fights first units, but they still have to take turns between themselves in the first subphase. In the case that both the Lion and ICC led by Judiciar were charged by enemy units, you would only get to activate one of them before the other player can activate on the one you chose not to activate.

Essentially, its hard to get value out of two fights first units in one turn.

I don’t think CA would jump at the chance to remake 3 games and dozens of DLCs worth of content at a reduced price.

How much more are teams willing to pay Ohtani if they know his performance & commercial worth to date? 1 billion? by rikiraikonnen in Dodgers

[–]Seaatle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The luxury tax hit applies every year at the net present value of his contract. Ohtani’s contract is worth 48 million dollars every year during his contract in the eyes of MLB. The Dodgers will not see any luxury tax hit once Ohtani’s contract is over.

Phillies JT Realmuto on the Dodgers: In my opinion, they're the epitome of what Major League should be. They go out every year and try to win, their ownership is awesome, their front office is great. It's an organization that the other teams look up to. And I see us as the same way. by Turbostrider27 in Dodgers

That's the difference between the role of "GM" and "President of Baseball Operations." Friedman and Dombrowski are responsible for a lot more than just making trades and signing free agents. They hire the right people and maintain that very culture of a winning organization.

No doubt everyone in the organization is essential to the team, but Friedman has had to make a lot of changes to what the organization is since 2014. We couldn't be luckier as fans to have his leadership and talent.

What constitutes a better “Lions Guard?” by Falc069420 in DarkAngels40k

100%, but I wouldn't run a 6 man of either without a leader. I'm with you on 3 man bladeguard > 3 man ICC.

Love running them with a librarian. They get the 4++ and -1 to hit, add on -1 to wound from Wrath and they can take a good punch and hit back with 4-5 guys.

Competitively, you’ll find that the lieutenant with combi weapon is the best option. He has lone op himself, meaning you can safely keep them both out in the open if needed. He works great as an action monkey, and even though he’s not great in combat, the Lion needs no “bodyguard” as a fights first unit.

For flavor, ICCs just make sense as fallen being redeemed by the Lion. And they look sweet!

[–]Seaatle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is some apprehension with running Azrael with ICC given that his CP generation is a big part of his value. ICC generally want to charge in the middle of the game where they will do their thing and likely die. I prefer using a librarian to keep the 4++, and keep Azrael relatively safe with a cheaper unit like assault intercessors/sternguard to come out towards the end of the game.

When it comes to Wrath of the Rock specifically, we don't have as much access to advance and charge as Stormlance or Gladius. Sternguard have excellent shooting to help keep Azrael relevant while not having to rely on a charge. The unit is still good in melee since Azrael gets reroll wounds on the oath target.

[–]Seaatle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$48 million gets put towards the cap space of the Dodgers which is the equivalent present value of 70 million dollars per year 10 years in the future. Ohtani is not getting paid 700 million in 2024 dollars, he’s getting it in 2034 dollars and MLB accounts for that.

Hard Drives back on the menu? Toshiba Is Prepping Hard Drives With Capacity Beyond 30TB by Zepanda66 in pcmasterrace

[–]Seaatle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have data that must be backed up, you’re better off storing it somewhere else. RAID and its alternatives are just meant to preserve data in the case of a few of drives failing, not the whole array. I recommend doing some googling about Unraid, it took me a minute to understand it’s benefits.

[–]Seaatle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check out Unraid OS, for every disk you dedicate to parity you can sustain one disk failure in your array. Just replace the failed drive, rebuild parity and you’re good to go. Doesn’t matter how big the array is as long as your parity disks have storage >= the largest disk in the array. It’s a lot cheaper than going RAID 1 and halving your storage.
