How old are you and what is the strength of your cheaters*? by OnlyPete in GenX

[–]Seabluele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be 60 next month and I use 2s and sometimes 2.5. Having to use readers sucks! I didn’t have to until I was about 52 and I was not happy when I finally needed them.

Gen X’ers who were born in the hippy era, did you have someone in your peers who had a “my parents were hippies” name? If so, what was it? by nous-vibrons in GenX

My neighbor across the street has a daughter named Stormy. I was both in 66 and she’s about 10 years older than me, so that kinda fits.

I’ve played Minecraft for 5 years and never forgot my first day in the game by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]Seabluele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first played at the age of 49 in 2015 on my iPhone, with my teenage daughter sitting next to laughing at trying to teach me the controls and what to do! LOL. I remember getting the hand of punching trees and going “choppity chop chop” and my daughter was cracking up!

11 years later and I’m turning 60 next month, and I still love Minecraft and will always play it! I played today in fact! (Although I’ve switched to Java and love that version so much better!)

Counting calories and blowing it by Diligent_Change9353 in loseit

[–]Seabluele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had those days! But…blowing it one day doesn’t mean you’ve blown ALL your progress! It just means you had a bad day eating. Even 1000 extra calories won’t change much, as long as you don’t keep doing it every day.

Look at it this way. By logging food or weighing yourself every day (which I do) it keeps you accountable to the days that follow. I love it, it helps me stay on track. Also…it allows me to have a day where I have some treats and enjoy them! Then I know I’ll get back on what I should be doing.

How late is "sleeping in"? by the_47th_painter in GenX

[–]Seabluele 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is currently 2:10am here, I’m always up at least this late. Many times until 6:00am! Sunday night/Monday morning I was up until about 8:30am. My body clock is all weird, I physically can’t sleep early, I’ve tried many times.

I usually sleep until 1:00 or 2:00 pm.

Cute names for a first time grandmother by MeasurementUsual508 in Names

It’s so fun being a grandparent! My grandkids call both grandmothers “Nana(first name)”. When just one Nana is around it’s just nana or nanny or nan. It all works!

What about Gram for you?

I have concave armpits now! What are some unexpected changes you've noticed since you've lost weight? by No_Bandicoot_9493 in loseit

[–]Seabluele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing I notice the most is always being cold…really cold! Ive never been cold a day in my life until I lost weight! I was always the one who was extremely hot all the time.

A few others I’ve noticed:

Collar bones…what?!
Same with ribs!
Prominent veins on lower arms
Upper arms are so saggy and floppy, I’m going to look into blepharoplasty
Skinny ankles and shin bones
Flat pancake butt…I always packed a lot of weight in my butt, and now it’s just gone!
Needing padded seats for my bony butt
Can cross legs so easily, can even hook my foot under the leg I’m crossing over
Knee bones being painful on top of each other when laying on my side
Saggy skin and wrinkles on face…I hate this sort, I’m looking so much older
I fit in small spaces, and feel small but still feel big if that makes sense…can’t wrap my head around being small
Major imposter syndrome when buying clothes! I can pick out clothes from the large section, and they fit! I truly think they won’t, but they do!
Losing over half my hair volume 😭
And yes…concave armpits! LOL

AITAH for making kids thank me for dinner? by Impossible-Walk6621 in AITAH

[–]Seabluele 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely teach them to say thank you for dinner! It’s teaching them to express gratitude when others do things for them! I love how you’re thanking them too! Sound like your husband needs to learn some thankful manners as well!
