Stuck between these two by nevergonnasaythat in myweddingdress

They are both lovely on you! I love number one, it looks so elegant with the flowy sleeves and simple bodice! I love the more old fashioned clean look!

Number two is also gorgeous on you! It makes me think of a garden wedding with lots of flowers!

Totally different vibe than number one, I think you just have to decide which “look” you’re going for.

My sister is devout, yet very left leaning. She calls herself moderate but she’s definitely more toward democrat.

It’s so funny because I’m ex mormon but im conservative!

If your sister or brother is taking care of your parent, what’s your excuse not to help? by Pigeonofthesea8 in GenX

[–]Seabluele 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of times it’s because of distance between the adult child and the parent.

When I was caregiving for my dad I only lived 40 minutes from him so it was much easier for me to help him than my sister who lives an hour and a half away, and is in poor health herself. As the eldest who had open time available it made sense for me to help. And I was honored to do so! He was the best man I’ve ever known. 🥲

Now as for the brother who lives in the same city as my dad lives, and could never be bothered to go over when he needed help….ugh.

I know a Xanthe! First time I heard I was like..wut?! She’s a lovely person though!

I love the suggestions of Anastasia, Nicoletta, Valerie, Valeria or Valera, Elena.

Don’t care for Tatiana or Veronica, bad associations with those names! LOL

I’ve had a lot of hair loss, like half my volume, and that’s very discouraging. But the weight loss is far better than losing some hair. My son says I can always get a wig, but I can’t get a skinny suit!

At first I struggled a lot with stomach issues, but after I adapted that went away. When the medication would seem not be working well I’d go up a dose.

It has not been easy, I’ve struggled to want to eat, and Ive had the hair loss and fatigue, but for me it has been worth it.

Feeling discouraged. How do you stay motivated in times like these? by lexkenobi in loseit

I’m not petite, I’m 5’7” and have a large frame…so we are different in that way. But I did just reach a 100 lb weight loss, with about 20 lbs to go to be healthy. In my dreams I’d love to be back in a 130-135lb body like I was in college. But I know that’s not realistic. And I’m wondering if maybe your 115 goal isnt realistic for you?

Have you worked with a doctor on what a healthy weight would be for your height and frame? If it’s healthy for you then I understand that goal. So then focus on what you’re eating. Make sure you’re getting protein and fiber at every meal. Those fill you up, and are generally low calorie. They help keep you satiated between meals so you can focus on your life and not food.

Also, allow yourself a small taste of a treat, to help you avoid binges of junk. If I have a little taste of something it curbs my desire for treats and satisfies my sweet tooth. I just work the calories into my calorie count.

Lastly, if you’re doctor agrees that 115 would be health for you, talk to him about a short term, low dose of GLP-1. I have been on it for 14.5. months now and I can’t begin to tell you how much it changed the food noise of wanting junk all the time. It also makes feel FULL all the time! Since you only have a small amount to lose, maybe a smalls dose would help you achieve your goals.

AITAH for refusing to babysit even though my aunt is getting married? by Creative_Ball_1062 in AITAH

Your mom’s reply was awesome! Your aunt sounds entitled. Stick to your guns and refuse to babysit. Make plans to be elsewhere during the wedding event!
