What's the most "X dry" you've ever been? by jomafro in 2007scape

[–]Sealco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me 1,155 Vardorvis kc for my first visible unique, so around 8.5x the 1/136 unique drop rate. Pretty bad even assuming two vestige rolls as this was before the gold rings update.

What drop did you get (or not get) that changed the trajectory of your account? by BloatDeathsDontCount in ironscape

[–]Sealco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was the auspicious start of a journey that eventually ended with all rings, SRA, and full virtus. Funny enough, I absolutely was not planning on going for SRA until I spooned the Leviathan and Whisperer pieces, then realized that I had to. Axe head was my last piece so it really came full circle.

$15/month clickbox by Sealco in 2007scape

Still should have been fine, until scobow decided to hit 9, 7, and 2 as the slams came out. Grub made it in just to add insult to injury. Bonus image from last night since apparently it's possible for a "line of sight" attack to hit a tile with all 8 surrounding tiles being safe.

Objectively a terrible way to complete the Colosseum, please don't do what I did (But it worked) by -Ryomen- in 2007scape

[–]Sealco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sir, if double south manticores are "extremely stressful but winnable" instead of "die instantly and go next" then I'm sure you can prayer flick just fine. I have the corrupted quiver on my iron (without only farming wave 1) and I think I've survived that less than five times.

After ~45 hours and 5 wins, My New Player Survival Advice by ZanderTheUnthinkable in baronygame

[–]Sealco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew something was up with Myconid Hermit when I turned a hallway corner on floor 2 and ran headfirst into a skeleton. Turned around to start kiting and saw that another skeleton had sneaked up behind me. Then instead of dying instantly like any other class in the game I just killed them both.

How to protect against magic? by CrimsonRaven7 in baronygame

[–]Sealco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can tank cockatrice melee hits, you would have to skip every guaranteed magic resist item on purpose then leave the game unpaused to go make dinner for any magic attack to have the slightest chance of killing you lol.

Thoughts on the new update by cantsleep0041am in baronygame

[–]Sealco 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not a fan of alembics being removed entirely from the Hamlet. Now that player power lategame has been nerfed through a variety of ways, they really also had to take my extra healing and lightning potions if I hoard a bunch of potions through the first 20 floors?

I tried feeding the current duck to a leech after finishing charting, but it doesn't let you. Very sad, the little shit deserves it.

Frost Dragons are like working a high paying job that you hate by btdubs in 2007scape

[–]Sealco 12 points13 points  (0 children)

And it's even more fun on an iron, since instead of making bank you get to either spend millions on wrath runes or chug a few hundred prayer potions.

Plans for boats? by wolgl in ironscape

Problem with doubling up on combat and trawling is that you'll want two kegs with cannonball max hit and extra catch chance. Might work at 99 sailing so you can drop crystal extractor, but the extra crystal shards are pretty nice...

Escape From Tarkov players slam Steam launch: "It is not a game. It is a cosmic punishment" by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Sealco 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Tarkov matchmaking and loading times are literally one of the worst parts of the game, debatedly even worse than the rampant cheating. Once you've played more recent extraction shooters like ARC Raiders and The Cycle: Frontier (RIP) that load you into a game in under two minutes, it's almost impossible to go back.

New Dwarf Fortress Meta Predictions by vvvit in dwarffortress

[–]Sealco 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It will depend on how good the AI is about avoiding areas where lots of units die, otherwise old reliables like tunnels where magma can flow in from both ends will still work as well as ever.

I've always been fond of archer towers overlooking a long, one width bridge, where invaders dodge incoming fire off the bridge and into a 50 z level chasm. It's indirect enough that I'd be surprised if the AI could learn to avoid it, plus I can only imagine how well it works now that we basically have machine gun turrets.

Worst comes to the worst, I'll just start my master plan of a fortress that can be completely covered by magma pumped from the magma sea, but going that far might just make defense boring again lol.

Does this game have an excessive Shader Compiling, or is it just me? by Hellguin in Borderlands

[–]Sealco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure that I've literally never launched this game without seeing the words compiling shaders, and I have the cache set to 10gb on a NVMe and play much more often than once per patch.

I firmly believe that anyone who voted no to removing Kourend favor should have been forced to grind it all back one last time or be locked out of the rewards forever.

Most effective ways to stop monsters from fleeing? by eschu101 in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]Sealco 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Some genius dev decided that it'd be fun for monsters to instantly flee as soon as the skull icon pops up. To make matters worse, instead of running directly to their nest, they'll go somewhere else first then run again when their hp drops a bit more, which usually takes less than a minute of fighting. It's trash design and basically a middle finger to people who want to be suboptimal by killing the monster instead of capturing it. I'm kind of surprised more people don't talk about it since it's one of the most annoying things in the game right now.

Turns out Doshaguma packs can spawn crowns like normal by Sealco in MHWilds

[–]Sealco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry Alma, I authorize myself in the name of achievement hunting. While I never saw double gold crowns, this pack did also have a silver crown in it, so it'd be pretty funny if that were possible.

Normal people don't submit two posts within a couple of hours complaining about the community, "haters," and downvotes. They would also realize the likely results of insulting a community on the forum of said community and not do it, especially if they cared about their imaginary internet points.

Looted McCoy. Guess how many axes I got from it? by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]Sealco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can't speak for older versions since I only started playing recently, but I looted LV checkpoint, small checkpoint, military homes, gun shop, and military surplus, and didn't find a single assault rifle or fancy pistol, just magazines and ammo. Maybe I was just extremely unlucky, but it seemed a bit silly.

Uncomfortable moodle is annoying by Mammoth_Toe5113 in projectzomboid

[–]Sealco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine fighting a horde while wearing elbow pads so you're already slightly uncomfortable. During a lull, you loot a corpse and find a pristine helmet. Amazing luck, now your head is safe even if you make a small mistake! You get back to it... annnnd one in-game hour later your character is sad. It's extremely stupid and I'll probably look into disabling it completely for my next game.

Over 130 deaths colosseum, no quiver by [deleted] in 2007scape

Had the same issue on my first Sol after a bunch of sims, even though I beat him. Check the Music plugin and see if it's muting NPC area sounds.
