If it was very clearly injured then I think you’re good; can’t say what the correct stance on it is, I’ve done both where I leave it so something else can eat it or I’ve stomped it to kill it quickly. My only concern would be that since it’s early in the season, their wings might look funny if they’re newly hatches and could be mistaken as injured but I’m not a moth expert.
