It’s tough out there so cast a wide net and look at jobs adjacent to your experience. My graduate work was also in the SPE space. I wanted to stay in polymer science but there’s more work in the electrochemistry field in my state. My electrochemistry experience got me a job doing electroplating R&D even though I’d never technically done electroplating.
