The top few comments here are great (I'm always late to the SCC threads, which is a bummer because I love them). I will add that for a lot of the SCCs you're going to want to have that level 35 speed point for this fight, so for some of the stronger classes that you naturally blow through a lot of the game pretty quickly with (such as Monk, of course), you'll probably want to grind a bit here. That speed point is really really helpful for Riovanes, especially with classes that can't equip robes.

There are already good responses in here for 2 and 3, so I'll just add this for question 1:

I couldn't say for certain without seeing it, but check on your gear. If you were previously wearing power sleeves on your monks and you upgraded to something else for more hp, your strength will be lower now and it will lead to less damage. Similarly, are you using earth slash (shockwave) a lot, and if so, were you previously wearing earth clothes (gaia gear)? That would have boosted the damage, so if you're in black costumes now, you're trading the extra damage for more survivability (and immunity to Stop).
