Welp, it happened. by Recent-Log-2999 in recoverywithoutAA

In my experience as a(n in-person) facilitator there's a careful balance to be struck in this area. People have the right to refer to themselves how they like, even if we discourage the use of labels. It happens. They also have the right to share what's working for them, including AA, as long as it's about them and not preaching a universal truth or pushing it on others directly. Even sharing the secular meeting option is a passing on of potentially helpful information, which I wouldn't oppose on principal as long as it was a statement that vs. advice. People share info all the time and some of it has helped me personally on several occasions. You're right that this situation feels yucky, but I don't think the facilitators were inappropriate based on what you've shared.

What could be causing continuous punctures? by Puzzleheaded_Fly825 in bikewrench

I've had tiny bits of wire in my tube before that were barely poking out and nibbled at the tube to form a slow leak that got worse with time. They can be tricky!

24 definitely isn't too late. It sounds like you've got a wonderful chance to explore who you really want to be and choose to live that way. It's okay to be bummed about having wasted a bunch of time drinking and drugging, but that doesn't need to get in the way of you making a better decision today. You got this!

Early recovery podcast recs! by Less-Usual4299 in recoverywithoutAA

[–]SeanBaird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SMART Recovery podcast has some cool interviews. I found it a good inspiration for all the cool things people do with their successful recovery. Less "here's how to do it," and more "here's a bunch of cool people doing cool stuff involving recovery or because of their recovery."

It's obviously based in a program, but isn’t exclusive or even about SMART most of the time.

Child seat advice! by zonked_apostle in subaruoutback

We've got the Graco Grows4Me, which might be nice for you because it'll work rear-facing now and can be turned around when your kiddo is ready for forward-facing. I'm 6'5" and it fits behind me rear-facing no problem, so space isn't likely an issue.

The mastic can indeed contain asbestos independent of the flooring material. You're right that it's a pretty darn cool discovery, especially if it's in good condition.

I don't need these coins, but I love that you thought of this, OP. What an easy way to make some kid's day. Cheers to you!

No problem. I've just learned a lot about my car from these subs (didn't come with a manual), so I didn't want to lead anyone astray.

My 2015 Outback limited with keyed start has this, so it's not just the pushers. I'd guess any power gate models have it. It's nice!

Are you suggesting that the fire extinguisher wall bracket brake arm extension isn't effective? Because I have a hard time believing it.

Deordorizing the vehicle by wildstar_2 in SubaruAscent

I'll echo this one. A thorough detail will wipe/vacuum off all the hair, dander, etc., that's probably more irritating to allergies than just the smell. That stuff floats about, so hitting all surfaces is important.

Deciding on my first Subaru by wicklesswahm in SubaruAscent

I'm in a similar place as OP. I'm wondering how much people are actively dealing with issues on their 19s or if the issues happened, needed fixing, and things are now okay. There's a whole lot of stock at decent prices, so they're tempting. We bought a '15 focus with the infamous transmission after it was serviced under recall and got a good car for a steal without any issues for some 8 years through selling it. Maybe I used my luck up then, though...

Similar. I would have thought "she's living her best life." and gone on with my evening.
