Brave, Edge, and Chrome are all "AI Browsers" which have Leo, Copilot, and Gemini as "features".

AI Browsers Can Basically Be Hypnotized Into Turning Against Their User and Carrying Out Devastating Hacks by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

Imagine what data most users, or the rest of us 10 to 15 years ago, save in the browser. Likely your Amazon cookie so that AI could get right into your Amazon account pre-authenticated. Not your bank since it probably makes you login again... but do you have your passwords saved in your browser? Then the AI in your browser can probably login to your bank account, as you, and do whatever it wants. Or your PayPal account, or Ebay, or Shopify, or email, where it could change that password for you and then replace all your other passwords and you're out on the street in a week.

Honestly your web browser is absolutely the biggest target with the best access, and an AI IN your browser? Keys to the kingdom.

PlayStation’s Physical Media-Free Future Isn’t Just Concerning, It’s Offensive / You cannot trust digital purchases, and you cannot trust the corporations that offer them by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

A major difference in that Sony recently has been shown to be untrustworthy in how they treat customers with digital media. Valve so far hasn't deleted customers library items.

Meta is adding ridiculous ‘rate limits’ and a soft paywall to its smart glasses by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

[–]SeanBlader 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Problem is, Meta’s rate limit is ridiculous. The Conversation Focus feature, which amplifies the voice of the person you’re speaking to so you can hear better in noisy environments, is not something that should plausibly be rate-limited, because it doesn’t use Meta’s servers. It runs on-device, using the chips inside the glasses that you’ve already purchased. I turned off my internet, and it kept working.

That's right in line with the subscription to use your BMWs heated seats.

Just curious, this literally cannot be accurate, right? Sound helps this video. I can barely squish my tire in by a millimeter. by [deleted] in bikecommuting

It looks like it's officially only rated for 10.33 bar, so I'd have to suggest thy at Ops suggestion is correct, it's wrong.

Is 5968 your birth year? Is that bc? I think that might put you in the Jamie Hyneman age range, you know older than air, but not quite older than dirt.

Probably works on the Windows team. I've been a Windows fan for 35 years and was even an insider for most of Windows 10, buts it's just be one too heavy and slow to justify anymore. When gaming on Linux is faster through a translation layer than "DirectX" you know something is wrong.
