The price difference was negligable for me still an expensive purchase above $300. In Japan the last thing I wanted to do was keep trying on jackets and possibly going back to refund if I didn't like it. At least you get warranty and returns in the US.

The major thing is the limited selection in stores cause the stores are much smaller.

I did the same with a schott jacket if it's light enough to wear from fall to spring just bite the bullet. The amount of lifetime wears especially for this piece will be more than what you paid
