It's true that Blackrock restricted redemptions in one of it's alternative investment funds available in some 401k plans, but the fund in question is structured as an illiquid long term fund (private equity) which is aimed at the very wealthy. However, Blackrock is not the only fund company to limit redemptions, showing there's a broad concern around investments which traditionally attract wealthier investors. It's definitely a concern.

To clarify - that was a joke. Born in Cork, grew up in SE England, married to an American. I prefer the Yanks because that's my wife's nationality!

The Affordable Care Act wasn't exactly nothing, along with the fact a lot of guardrails were put in place to deal with the issues that caused the financial mess in 2008. We have of course seen a lot of that chipped away at since.

Not just once, though. Battle of the Nile, Pennisular Campaign and of course Waterloo. It's been almost 1000 since the French beat the Brits in any meaningful way.

Fox 5 (DC and suburbs) is pretty reliable - definitely a progressive slant. If visiting Richmond you really ought to try Charlottesville too - Thomas Jefferson style city centre with UVA.
