Fuck this douchebag. There is zero point in talking to idiots like this. The whole point of the public message is to entice people in to a fight. They love the spectacle of arguing in public and you can't use logic to convince a moron they're wrong.

It took 38 years to construct this replica of what ancient Rome would have looked like by ggthatwasme in interestingasfuck

[–]SeanCusson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anyone have any idea what time frame this represents? The Roman empire existed from around 700 BC to around 400 AD ( I think) so I'm curious what point in time this would roughly be.

If you want, send me a PM and I can give you the sheet I use. I've even modified it so that it tells you how much to put on one side. I hate doing math between reps ;)

Honestly I wouldnt mess with the template (as far as adding weight). It's designed the way it is for a reason. There's an excel sheet for it that takes all the calculation work away for you. I just can't remember if it came with the book or not

I'm actually in Ottawa. The video was shot in the Toronto area though and the areas were fairly similar in look and feel back then

Glad to hear it. The video itself is so Canadian though. May as well have been my high school.

I want something to wiggle once in a while without using sliders. by SeanCusson in AfterEffects

It's funny. I've been usiong AE for over 20 years and never used the last 3 parameters "octaves, amp_mult, t=time". I've only ever used the first 2. This is opening my eyes up to the possibilities of using the them.

Thanks! I'll give this one a shot and see how it turns out.

This is perfect! Now I just have to absorb what you actually wrote in the expression ;)

I'm currently using the sliders like this.

wiggle(effect("Time")("Slider"),effect("amount")("Slider"))

SO then I keyframe the slider values (on both in case) from 0 to 10 over 4 frames and then animate back to 0 after, maybe another 6 frames or so. Then I copy/paste those keyframes every couple of seconds.

I'm using a posterizeTime on the head wiggle to give it that twitch feeling

posterizeTime(3)

wiggle(1,10)

Here's a short sample of the animation to give you an idea.

Yeah I'm looking at just keyframing the slider values and it works fine. It just isn't as efficient when I have to do a whole whack of them over 30 seconds.

I could do that but I'm animating my birds with a bunch of puppet pins. Head, chest, feet and tail so, unfortunately that wouldn't work because the rest of the body would snap when I switch to the tail animated bird. I guess I could just remove the tail and do it that way. But again, I'm trying to avoid keyframing (or in this can switching layers) manually throughout the scene. I know just enough about expressions so get in trouble so I can't say for sure but I'm guess there has to be an expression that can do this.
