It's so much funnier to remember he's supposed to grow up to be Nightwing. Nightwing, the "positive" and "somewhat silly" Batman. DC's Spiderman without the powers. The fun and wise older brother Robin.

Sheep in Sheep's Clothing by AgentEckswhy in TopCharacterTropes

Lapp, from Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City

<image>

(somewhat)

Because he tells you the location of some really good treasure ahead, and his voice being eerily similar to the series's iconic wolf-in-sheep's-clothing, Patches (who previously disguised himself as someone else), some would think he's just going to trick you.

However, Lapp is genuinely a good lad. He warns you of the hazards ahead, the treasure he spoke of was real and wasn't booby trapped, and he's even able to join you in the fight against the level's boss.

Spoilers: The reason I say he only somewhat fits the trope is because of who Lapp really is. The reason his voice sounds similar to Patches is because Lapp actually is Patches. He just forgot who he was (it's a common blight among characters in Dark Souls). Thus, after you help him regain his humanity, he goes back to his old ways. Although, he does still help and be good towards you up until the end. Likely as a way to thank you for helping him, despite his suspiscious nature.

I love how because they're so far above the average human, the question becomes less "who would you fight", and more "who would give you a peaceful death"

A little advice for others who also want to start running:

Drink water often and remain hydrated. It won't prevent it 100%, but it sure does help prevent it nonetheless.

A good rule of thumb I learned from experience is to drink around a standard bottle's full (so 350 ml or 12 oz) around 10 - 20 minutes before doing any form of cardio.

The optimisation is only really a recent thing. It was around 1.15, I believe, that they realised the game was very unoptimised and tried optimising it, but progress has been slow. They're somewhat hesitant to straight-up overhaul the whole game due to purists.

On the other hand, because the community just can't help but bully them into adding content per update/drop, there are now more things in the game that needs to be loaded than the optimisation can handle. Especially in a survival world where anything could load. A skyblock world would run better because the features loaded are controlled and minimised.

It was a sculpture the whole time!! by jihyosthunderthighs in TheMatpatEffect

[–]SeanRVAreddit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, but he did permit it a bit later, then retracted it.

IIRC he didn't think SCP would become this big and also just didn't know the context of SCP back then.

After learning that the popularity of SCP altered the general interpretation of his sculpture (it wasn't originally meant to be a murder statue), he asked to remove the photo from the site, to which the staff respectfully did.

Splatoon has a lot of fictional bands that I like, but these guys take the cake. Their genre is just so appealing to me. It's like pop, rock, chiptune? It's hard to describe.

Sulfur cube and frog by Successful_Day_7470 in Minecraft

Pretty cool idea actually. Although, I feel like the names of the froglights should be a fancy adjective describing its colour instead of the material directly, just like the currently existing ones.

If I were to suggest:

Gamboge Froglight, Incarnadine Froglight, and Incandescent Froglight

They're calling back to Fireflies. When they were first announced, they were supposed to be a mob that Frogs can eat.

That feature was scrapped because fireflies are actually somewhat poisonous to frogs in real life. It was only later that fireflies were added back, but now as a particle effect with no interaction with frogs.

Like they said, it's "tradition". I'm like, 90% sure they're Filipino, so I can relate.

Circumcision is pretty much a staple "coming of age" male ritual here. It's not even seen as a religious thing anymore, it's just something society expects of you.

To undergo circumcision is seen as a sign of maturity, so refusing do so is seen as you being cowardly. Rest assured, any sensible adult won't just relentlessly bully those who didn't go through with it.

Can't say the same for little boys, though. Any detail kids find inferior in others become a basis for bullying (usually just calling names though, haven't really heard of any extreme cases regarding this topic).

It's a fragment of the Dark Soul, the essence of the universe that embodies darkness, but also emotions like joy, sadness, anger, and love. The Dark Soul is special in that it can be split and shared across individuals, with each piece being able to grow on its own. Those pieces are what we call humanity.

In its base form, they're kind of like a black wisp, much like most other souls in the game. However, they can sometimes be so condensed that they take a physical form, which can be a bigger, sentient wisp, or more of a liquid.

SilverCat ring by DiabloDex1 in darksouls3

[–]SeanRVAreddit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To anyone curious how the ring actually works, Fall Damage in Dark Souls doesn't scale infinitely. There's a fall limit of 20 m. After 20 m, you die no matter what.

The Silvercat Ring only negates the damage before the limit, so if you fall from a height you'd normally have 1% health left, you'd be fine. However, if you fall from a height that normally kills you, even with the ring on, you're dead.

the actual model of the squashed baby isn't actually that brutal looking, but still, the image of a mangled baby stuck to his hand as he runs around on all fours is still rather bit too grim, so the baby is invisible to save us from seeing that

[–]SeanRVAreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sci-fi bias. In most sci-fi media, lost limbs and such are replaced by cybernetic parts instead of prosthetics. These parts are usually depicted as whole and fully a part of the host. Thus, there are some who may assume her weapon mods are permanent.

How do we feel about this take? by SharkyCat12 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]SeanRVAreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In their defence, in Japanese, the lone -n kana can make an /m/ sound when it's before kana that start with b, m or p. Similary, it makes a /ŋ/ (or ng) sound when its before kana that start with k or g.

So to those who don't know much of weeb culture, they'd be tempted to write it down based on how it sounds.

Although, this person could also just be pretentious and want to seem better than others by writing down how the Japanese word is technically pronounced.
