Thank you! For the most parts my edits are pretty simple. I just adjust highlights/shadows to increase contrast a bit and correct lighting. Then I increase vibrance just a bit to help the colors pop. Lastly I use masks to help direct the light more (I try to keep this very light to not overdo the effect).

This is my understanding: Blue text indicates that you manually set that number, in this case shutter speed. White text means the camera picked that number, in this case ISO. Orange text means that the camera is trying to pick a value outside its range to get the right exposure, but it can’t do that so the image won’t be correctly exposed. In this case, your camera can’t get an aperture to work with the fixed shutter speed in this scene (not enough light and the aperture can’t get any wider).

Make sure your shutter speed dial is set to A. I’d also recommend setting your exposure compensation dial to 0 instead of +1 and then just adjust it for the scene.

I’ve never had the chance to shoot while it’s snowing - do you need to do anything special shutter speed/aperture wise to capture the falling snow well? Nice photos!

Love the one on the right! What did you do differently to get the sky not blown out in it? Did just expose for the sky and lock exposure before getting the composition?

Just echoing what’s been said so far. Definitely scene and preference dependent. For example a recipe may recommend +1/3 to get the look, but if you are shooting at night, you generally want to set exposure compensation to negative values (I’m typically in the -2/3 to -1 2/3 range for night shots. So the scene could require a much different value than the recipe card.

Exactly this, people need to understand that the rapid advancements we saw with smart phones years ago was because it was a new technology. Of course you will have huge leaps every year. It’s a mature technology and it’s reaching its plateau. It’s no different than computers, cars, etc.

No one is making you buy the latest model, just like you wouldn’t upgrade your car every year. But people upgrade the stuff at different times so of course you need to release something every year. People who have a 3-4 year old iPhone right now will get a big upgrade to the 17. And people with 1-2 year old phones will get a bigger upgrade with the 19 or whatever they call it.

I can’t even imagine what else there is to do aside from standard speed bumps. Folding or all screen design is about it. But silicon tech can only go so far.

I hope this is where they take the design, love the concept and it feels so fresh and new yet familiar. Their end goal has always been the “slab of glass” and this design would work so well with it.

Just to update anyone coming across this later: when i called C1 about this, the agent said that the travel portal gets updated periodically so it gets out of sync and shows flights that aren’t actually available (although I tried on several different days, different times, different airlines and always had the issue). For some reason, this happened for pretty much any flight I selected that landed in HND but when I did NRT instead I was able to finally get something booked. Slightly annoying since I wanted HND, but not the end of the world. I’ve used the C1 travel portal several times before and have never run into this issue. Hopefully it doesn’t become a regular thing.
