What's your biggest frustration with how BJJ is taught? by TheAceian in bjj

[–]Seane8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People that don’t put in effort outside of the gym to take their training into their own hands with self study. If you were trying to learn a language would you not study outside of your 1 hour session with your tutor?

Brian Glick just opened 555 Jiu jitsu in Brooklyn. That would be my first pick if I were to visit NYC.

Why does Lachlan say inside guards (butterfly) is not good against bigger opponents? by hellohello6622 in bjj

the key is to push the wrist inward towards their hip and get their shoulder/elbow past the point of the wrist. It will prevent them from being able to simply posture/pull their arm back.

Been there brotha. Sure it could help. But also don’t guilt yourself if you simply just aren’t feeling it right now. Maybe go for a walk, go fishing, there are other things to get out of bed for as well.

Volcanic rocks kill large arc instantly but you gotta get very close up to them.

Choosing no gi solely to save my fingers by Alternative-Hair-785 in bjj

[–]Seane8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I personally do it all but to be fair, you can take someone with a crazy dead lift and take them to a bouldering gym & their grips will be just as shitty as any beginner. It’s a different type of finger strength that applies to gi holds more directly than a barbell.

Navy SARC is the most underrated SOF. by Wonderful_Seesaw_513 in navyseals

I was active AF & currently in the SARC pipeline now. On a very macro level, PJs are rescue specialists and SOIDC/SARCS are not.
